We finally have some snow on the ground in VT! Ironically, not enough for the snowmobiles, but enough to cause traction issues on the hill with the quad.

We moved a few trailer loads today to the racks by the back door. It went smoothly for the most part. Just in time too as we’re supposed to get snow up there tonight and possibly again Wednesday night. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll then have enough to take the sleds out.

Even with the trailer empty, the hill just over the stream was a bit slick! That area gets some sun (when it decides to come out this winter) and creates quite a bit of ice there. I got stuck twice. Luckily, I was able to “walk” the quad up after I got off of it. Learned my lesson and started with a good head of steam and powered up in third gear.

It’s always good to get outside and move around!

It rained all day here. If it wasn’t for moving and burning wood I’d have done sweet f all. Looks like over the river and through the woods in snow.

Wow I envy you. I live in the cornbelt out on the prairie. Nothing but mud all winter. Hardly a tree in sight.

I'm not a fam of moving wood in the snow. Alway hope the storms come when my basement is stashed full and can outlast the white stuff.

Very picturesque. Will you used a sled to move wood or just the quad?

    Thanks!

Hoping to use a sled. I picked up a solid hitch for my wood toboggan that I’m looking forward to trying out.

That’s what I have in mind! Just put the hitch on the 2001 Panther 440 two up.

Thank you! We’ve done a lot of work to it since we bought it in 2009. We built the bridge ourselves and it’s held up nicely with ATV and snowmobile traffic.

Here’s a pic of the front of the house our neighbor took yesterday in the snow.

Is that one of those "kit" A frames from the 60's-70's? Dunno if you remember Grossmans on route 68 in Wallingford? Was across from Gigantes deli (now gone) Back in the 70's they had a model one out front. I roofed one in Cheshire back in the late 1990's. Fun project.

It’s possible it could have been a kit Brad. Unfortunately, we don’t have all the details. I’d love to get some pictures of it back in the day. There are a number of other A-Frames on our road; some a bit bigger than ours. Back in the 60’s a developer came in and built a bunch of A-Frames and sold them to people from CT who skied at a locally (but unfortunately now closed) ski area.

IIRC it was sheathed with tongue & groove 2x6's across the timbers with 1/2" fiberboard sheathing/insulation.

Our roof deck is tongue and grove. It’s really interesting setup. I’ll try and dig up some pics of when we had the roof done in early 2020.
