Looking for the correct spark plug for the Dirty Handtools 25 ton log splitter. I will be replacing soon and don’t have the hardcopy manual anymore. I used to use the online manual but that seems to have gone away now that the company is out of business. Thanks in advance!
Found on internet for kohler SH265 which some of the DHT 25T splitters used Compatible Spark Plug for Kohler Engine Power Equipment SH265 Courage OHV 6.5 h.p. - Compatible Champion RC12YC & NGK BCPR5ES Spark Plugs. If you search for it both the service manual and owners manuals for both splitter and engine are available for free download. Mike in Okla
My original champion spark plug did not last long on my DHT 25 ton and the porcelain split. I would recommend the NGK by a mile. Have never had good luck with champion.
What I found was the Kohler plug was 12 132 02-S. I would probably cross that to the NGK but that is just my preference. But to be certain I would follow what Chud suggested.
Yep. Who makes the splitter is irrelevant cause they don't make the engine. Get your engine model number and go to like parts tree and look up the number or like said download the engine manual and see what they recommend or cross reference the existing plug if your confident it's correct. I see though you have been basically been given this advice.
