I had a customer called Artemis Industries, they made the dog Kong toys, and run a mold of the same thing minus the skull. Pardon me it was hilarious, everyone with a hitch had them
We got 6 Pekin ducks this spring. 1 died early on. 2 of the remaining 5 are males. Kids are butchering and plucking them now. Gonna have some duck to eat this week. Hopefully the females start laying soon or they will be next on the block.
Here it is Jan 21st, and most water is not frozen or safe. We got some snow yesterday. Another storm, nor'easter, is anticipated for tomorrow PM. That one will bring more snow. Then mid week we will get another storm that is also anticipated to bring snow. The nor'easter is the one that can be so destructive esp. along the coast. So far, winter has been a bust for snow lovers except for the mountains and way north. Feel sorry for the snow removal guys and those who love winter sports. We will have some winter, but it won't be a long one.
I spent some time cleaning up old pallets, and burning them. I used the ms170 to cut them up a little. I ran the splitter on the orphaned Honey locust rounds that I picked up on Tuesday night. Only got a couple of rounds split, but those big pieces sure make a lot of splits. I ran the splitter until it was out of gasoline. Good enough. The game started only a few minutes before I was able to get into the house. I also took Hayden out and played with him a bit too. Glad I did that, he'd have been a bit rowdy tonight otherwise. Instead he's sleeping in front of the stove right now.
Got the draft induction system tidied up and mounted on the Woodchuck. I still want to get a snap switch to make it shut off if the firebox gets too cold so it doesn’t keep running. I’m manually shutting it off at night to avoid that. Made my first kindling cracker for pallet wood.(posted inside another thread). Since there’s a couple more junk pallets laying in the shop floor, I’ll cut them up today and make some more kindling with my new invention. Burning the good stuff in the living room Lopi. About ran us out of the living room during our nightly tv show before bed when I filled it to the brim on automatic pilot. One or two sticks at a time with that stuff! Hope all have a good day, Lenny Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kinda light of the sauerkraut here. I sure don't like the sammy to have too much.....just a touch is about right for me.
Splitting and stacking some firewood this morning. Started a little late and taking breaks often. It is my day off. Nice temperatures for it. I don’t remember the last time I saw clear skies and full sunshine though. And it looks like it’s a ways down the road.
I used to love eating sauerkraut esp. with a pork roast and potatoes all roasted together. Now on a 1500mg sodium restriction. Lots of food I can't have now.
Making deer jerky today, probably eat it all by next weekend. I want to keep a steady flow of deer stuffs so that I have an empty freezer by next fall. Sometimes cuts get buried and I still have older meat with new meat needing to go in. Nice bump in temp in the kitchen.
Awoke to snow on the ground. OWB neighbor invited me and his father over for coffee. A majority of the snow was gone by the time we finished telling all our tales. no pressure to spend the day hauling wood, given being newly retired; so watching football. Will load the boiler before bed. will hit the firewood hoarding in the morning.
