Have not cut since last spring. Decided to go take a look. As luck would have it ran into the farmer who's farm I cut on. He had some logged recently. Just a snippet of it, sugar maple tops.

Lotta work for a little wood but it all adds up. I used to limb through pushed over apple trees and those pics remind me of all the limbing I used to do. This is where the lightest saw possible gets the call.

Way to get after it. Looks like some good cutting conditions. Wood to be had in those tops if you dont mind the work involved. Did black Betty get the call?

Pictures don't do it justice I guess as the tops are pretty big. Should be pretty easy to get some loads.

I only snapped a few pics, there are several areas. Some I can get to some would be better with more solid ground. I think I can probably ask him to drag some tops with the tractor if need be too.

I did not cut today, was just getting a game plan, but took Black Betty. Hadn't driven her much lately, she sputtered a little. Took her down for some fresh gas and by the time I got home she was doing just fine.

Sugar maple was heavy, had the front end pointing up. Should make a good addition to the hoard.

Looking good Locust Post ! We've had way too much rain here to do any logging. Just cutting in the log yard on my piles. Some year we'll get something that resembles winter again in this state. Maybe I can go back to hauling my own logs. Pretty discouraging looking at all my nice toys just sitting all the time.

Yes I would love to have some winter and frozen ground here. I had to keep Black Betty rolling coming out or I would have been going for the tractor and a chain.

Nice haul. Great to see Betty hauling wood again. How is the mud factor there?
