Get some malco Eagle grips while you can. They already announced that they are shutting down.

yep sure is a lot of junk tools out there most with chi-com sizes = almost right but not quite sae or metric. Even allen wrenches and the like are not immune. Had a problem on one of the trucks needed a 14mm allen, Ran up to Hardware store and they had one (brand name). Get back to shop doesn't fit ( late Sunday afternoon) so by then most everyone closed. Must have used some sort of shear to cut the hex stock off before bending them both ends were a couple mm larger than the shank portions. Very annoying, 30 minutes on the surface grinder resolved issue, quick case hardening job after that - now a working tool. Shouldn't have to do that. Steel was soft enough that you could hand file it hence the surface hardening. Screw drivers are terrible now days, almost always have to dress Philips types to make them fit or risk stripping the head, Torx bits some more that are to dang soft or don't fit correctly internal and external.
    rant over

I worked with a bunch of guys that bought expensive tool boxes from snap on and filled them with tools from well harbor freight. Never could understand why they didn’t spend the money on quality tools instead of falling in the “guy with the fancy box” trap.

I never played with a snapon toobox/chest but work bought one of those us generals from china freight and it seems ok to me.
I mean all it does is sit there and store tools. I don't get the point of spending a lot on something like that. Unless it is being moved a lot does it matter?
Personal toolboxes are whatever I have acquired over the years and they all seem to do their job pretty well. Just not the same as hand tools.

    Yes. Thems too. Lol.

I mean you gotta pick your battles on the cheap vs quality tools. Like a special socket I had to buy to remove an oil sending unit from a dodge 318 magnum. I didn't buy a Chrysler unit, I bought an AutoZone unit. I've used it one time. Plumbers wrench for reaching up under a sink. Cheap one. I'm not a plumber. Used mine once. You get the point. As far has harbor freight goes...I buy 9 mil thick or 11, can't remember, "rubber" mehanics gloves and I purchased that bad azz yellow Daytona floor jack. The biggest, heaviest duty version they have. The snapon copy that got them sued. I've tried several other things from there and they aren't worth walking in for.

Most tools in a pawn shop are stolen from tradesman and pawned for drug money
