I have way more than I can ever blow but I'm gonna make a 'College Try' at it anyway. Amy and I live a simple life, always have the 3 paid off rentals. Not leaving any behind for Amy either. She has her own. I'd sure like a Bugatti or a Ferrari but that would take too big a bite out of it so I'll keep on motoring my Ford Focus RS.

read that Michigan is gonna roll off the retirement tax this year as well. Fine with me. I shouldn't have to pay tax on retirement income anyway. Pay enough taxes on the farm as it is.

Me too.......told my financial guy to put everything into cash (money market) acct. Lost a little before I did, but nothing like I would have if I'd left it where it was.

Ohh Joy paying bills today! Cars finally paid off so a lil more jingle to get caught back up. Then pellet order goes in! 4 more tons of BBS crap. Might get a ton or 2 of some good chit maybe next month?

Luckily the BBS CC has a no interest 12 to 24 month payment deal depending on how much you spend. Buy now and pay a small monthly instead of the big whack all at once!! As much as I hate debt, Hard not to use this deal! Money has to be spent anyway. Plus I can set aside x amount to go for the next round! Yes BBS suck, But there are perks in using them. I assure you I would much rather support a local small biz, But ya gotta do what ya gotta do!!

I will spread some to the small biz in my area!

I had not planned on retiring.....I was going to run my one horse trucking company until I died.
    Stinking stroke got me first......

Went on disability from 60 yo to 67 and then my Soc-sec was at full amount.

The other half gets a decent Soc-sec and we rent out the apartment in the lower level of the ranch house....
Rentals are tough to find and when our last renter left to get a place with her elderly mom we had folks blowing up the phone at 2 AM.....

The fact that our rental is all under the same roof.....Makes things real handy......

    Its not getting rich....but comfortable........

I have no liabilities other than a new (last year) round bailer and that is a write off anyway rentals are paid for and so is the farm as well as the ground up north.

I really need to buy something for another write off, maybe a C7 Corvette or a Tesla.

I do know another hunting trip is on the docket. Problem is, I cannot use that for a tax shelter. We have been looking hard at an African big game hunt, Problem with that is, it takes literally months and mounds of paperwork just to get the tusks into the country.

Not sure I see the point driving around in a Jeep and trying to shoot at something the size of a house. I suppose it's easy enough and doesn't require much in the way of ability.

Different strokes for different folks. Most of the trips I go on are more about going somewhere I've never been and seeing things I've never see than killing an animal. Been on many hunts and never discharged my rifle. It's all about being there and the experience. The animal is secondary.

One of the most enjoyable hunts I've eve been on was a Nova Scotia moose hunt and I saw bullwinkles but never shot one. The people were fantastic, the terrain was beautiful and the animals were huge and I didn't cull a one.

At 72, my race is about run so I need to condense those memories for the afterlife and I can well afford it. Besides, I'm, not leaving my estate to anyone who didn't earn it. I watched my wife's family turn into nasty people over her parent's estate, over money they didn't earn. My wife's family was quite well to do. She's a Ransome E' Old's great grandaughter. Not me. I worked hard for what I have and I plan on spending all of it.

Hunting and hunting trips are my passion anyway.

Africa has always been on my bucket list. Life is about adventures anyway. I'm just a simple dirt farmer with a nice retirement package.

Yeah the usual "OMG it's gonna snow" from all the tv station weather folk. Since when is 4-8+ inches of snow reason to cause such panic?

Well, considering the dusting we got the ohter day "caused" a whole lot of aqccidents, I can see why. If this were a more typical year, the forcast wouldn't be out of th eordinary - but people have short memories when it comes to driving in less than ideal conditions.

Stopped at Market Basket in Lee around noon Thursday to pick up a few things while at lunch from work.

Walked in, saw people 10 plus deep at the registers, turned around and walked out.
Its 5-8 inches people, not Armageddon :picard:

Now getting ready to leave for work in this "oh my god its sn*wing" storm
