Hey guys. Just got back from buying a MS260 Pro, but while I was at the guys house, he tells me he has another saw for sale. He pulls out a very low hour 372xp. She's sporting a 36" bar. Didn't even start it, since I wasn't really thinking I'd buy it, but on the way home, CAD started to hit (even thought I just scratched that itch). The saw appears to be in excellent shape - cosmetic wise - definitely low hours. Would need to do a complete inspection of course, but I'm thinking about it. I'd sell the large bar and go with a 20 or 24" bar. I've really wanted a 70cc saw for some time (not really a need, but a serious want). The saw is a 2011 model. He initially said $600. I talked with him a bit ago about best price, and I can have the saw for $500. What do you all think of this deal - assuming the saw is indeed in great shape beyond the cosmetics? Argh - damm CAD. Cheers!

Tell us where this guy lives and we'll have a talk with him before you get back there :) I bought one last week, new, and used it for the first time Monday. It's an awesome little machine.

Oh boy, I knew this was the last place to talk me out of this! If I do this, I think I'll sell my two Husq 50's - they were cheap and I can probably get $150 toward the saw. I should probably flip the MS260 as well, but might not. I guess I'm looking at a line up of the 372xp, 262xp, 61, PS-510, and MS260. Sounds good! Dear Lord, we all need serious help. Cheers!

Okay, okay - I'm sending him a text now - I'll try to get down there tomorrow to really look at the saw. I'll pull the muffler, check compression, see how she oils, see if there's any tendency to run lean, etc., etc., etc. Anything else in particular you all would recommend to check closely on this saw? Cheers!

About all I do is pull the plug and peek in the cylinder. A lot of sellers get nervous about you taking apart their saw.

Let me know if you end up buying it and want to sell the bar. I'm interested.
Oh yeah, and go buy it! :D

With it being a 2011 model, I think it would be a 372xt. If the decompression button is on the top, it is an xt. I have the 372xt and the old style xp in the red and black colors and I like them both. The 1st ported 372 I ran was Mike's at the 372 build off and it was a very strong runner. For $500 in good shape, I believe you will be getting a good saw.

I do that too, but I do like to pull the muffler and see how the piston looks. He's a good guy - he didn't mind me pulling the muffler cover on the MS260 - for $500, I think he'll let me tinker. I've bough a couple other saws from him and he knows I'm serious - not just tire kicking. Cheers!

    I have a 260 pro and a 372 xt.... you'll want both. I can't live without either one. 372 wields nice for a 70cc with 24"bar too! $500 is a great deal!
