Rising Gas Prices & Bar Oil

That's just what happened to me. I had a stockpile of bar oil from TSC. I just ran out after 2 years. I needed some and I admit I paid the price buZZsaw BRAD posted. I was there and figured by the time I ran somewhere else, it would be a wash in cost.

 

I just bought a gallon of mystic b&c oil and it was 7.99. a 2 gallon jug is a little less, per gallon l think it was 15.99 for 2 gallons.

 

It seems to work as good as any. I have 5 gallons of it here yet.

 

Mystic bar oil is on sale at Blaine's farm and fleet for $6.49 / gallon in current add if any of you have them near you.

 

That's probably what I paid. Because that's where I bought it. I needed softener salt pellets and bought a few bags of that, and grabbed the bar oil.

 

Definitely higher than I'd like to pay but that's the cheapest I've seen or heard of it anywhere in the state. May have to swing in there one of these days.

 

This thread started in March of 22, since then I have been slowly stocking up and paying attention to the prices. Inventory seemed low and sporadic early on but that seems to be leveled out now. But prices are still all over the map! since I’m well supplied I don’t have to go anywhere specifically for bar oil, I just check the price in whatever store I happen to be in at the time and if it’s good (as in $8.99 or less) I’ll grab some.

 

Had two gallon jugs in the truck crossover tool box. Opened it up a month or so back and oil all over the floor of the tool box. Somehow they got set on top of a 1x6 so when the lid got slammed shut they split open. What a mess.

 

Been there & done that, I keep a full gallon behind the seat in the pickup & my current open jug in the back of the pickup under the side box with nothing else.

and right beside it was a quart of Oregon Pro for 7.99!

 

Oh no, that stinks. Cant imagine the mess.
The one quart bottle i keep in my little tool box leaked about half out as i didnt tighten the cap and its on its side.

 

Late to this post, but bar oil is basically $27/gallon locally plus tax. That's the cheap stuff.

 

I just paid $22.99/gal on Amzn, for Husq oil.

Went to Runnings in S. NH and saw the price $9.99/gal thought it HAD to be less at TSC $15.99.
I had bought a case and the neighbor got one too about 3 years ago.....just ran out. talk about sticker shock. Told the neighbor and he went to Runnings and picked up 6 gallons......I'm the one who burns up the oil......but he burns up most of the wood
