Picked up a free riding mower over the weekend with accessories! I hooked it up to the truck and put fresh gas in. WALLA she runs great! 16.5 hp V-Twin engine Hydrostatic pedal drive Hand pto Dump trailer Spreader And a possible yard rake bagger And the best part!!! Only 250 hours service!!!
Wow! Heck of a deal, that's better than my "buy a house get the bottom of the barrel Craftsman mower with it" deal!
Just looking at it I'm surprised they 'let it go'. It was probably worth something. You walked into a great find there PP. Does it come with racing slicks?
Its a manual pto non electric. But thats ok it works good... I need to get the parts for the deck but then my yard is small enough I dont need a rider to mow the lawn. Im more interested in a plow and weight kit and using the trailer around the yard A LOT! No more pulling the splitter and trailer by hand either lol. All it really needs is a battery and tune up. Id love to get a snow cab too but they cost $300 so thats probably not gonna happen.
I was thinking that route on hand, but wasnt sure. Sometimes electric can be a pita. Work loose not knowing and next thing you know no workie. Cuts right through those attached wires. Then sometimes just electric dead and never figured out why ? But replacements work. I have 2 with hand pto and they have never failed, disclaimer yet.
All that came to my mind is pete hand cranking the pto?? Are you calling the pto just what drives the deck? I'll take it , the drive would kill me though to come get it. Even though parts are cheap for MTD mowers you can get into them pretty quick. Last repair I have $160 or so in mine. But I throw what I had and it was better than buying another worn out mower.
This is my free rider, chain it up in the winter and have yet to take the chains off. Works great to pull the splitter around. As long as I can keep the tires on the ground. Haha
Awesome find there Pete You never know when you're going to run across something like that that people just want gone out of their way
Clem it can take pto attachments such as a snow blower or small tiller head. There is a big list of attachments but I'm gonna make some of my own most likely.
How do you attach your splitter? Is there an attachment for a ball? Mine has a small lip with a hole but it doesn't look strong at all.
I have the same " hitch" hole on my Huskee. It has surprised me how strong it is. I pulled some stuff around that it had no buisness doing !!
I built a plate with the ball that mount up to the frame of the tractor. Then the splitter sits level and when I want to pull the small dump trailer I don't have to take the ball off. This is the only pic from my phone that I could find. Not sure if you can see what's going on
I have pulled my fish n ski boat with that thin lip and a ball. I bet the tongue on that boat is 250 pounds or so.
I am about to go and play with the new toys! My neighbor says he'll give me $400 for all of it! I said no way man! I'm keeping these for sure...
