I see that getting done more and more around here. Pay a company to come with a climber or a lift/crane of some sort. Remove all the chippable branches and chip it all and cart it off. Leave the tree trunk standing. Dunno the reasoning behind it. Along the highway I get it - they just want to take enough to not be a road hazard as the trunk won't reach the road - but in back yards ?

Thanks Jason, I saw that add awhile ago somewhere else.. Has a few red flags for me, stacked on the ground, totally wrapped with rubber are the two big ones.. Without seeing it in person ya never know how consistently it’s been cut..
A buddy is cutting for me close to home, consistent length, mostly Oak, for 150/cord..
I/we made bins with cattle panels and plastic skids, each hold 1/2 cord, can solar kiln them, and most importantly we each have backhoes with forks, so there not abunch of handling….. Got2 bins sitting in the garage 15 feet from me as I type this, put em in here yesterday !!
