I worked a place where there was a guy who first thing in the morning, would find any excuse to lay on the floor and roll around just to get dirty and make it look like he was working harder than everyone else. He was a ...something... and would actually try to use it to prove "how hard" he was working compared to the rest of us. lol

Cleaned both stoves yesterday - everything but the LBT (which I did 3 weeks ago). Good for another 3 weeks.

A recloser, or PTR, is an automated switching device on 3 phase circuits that is designed to automatically reset, or re-close, after a fault is detected causing it to “open”. Sometimes it’s just a branch that falls on the phases and causes a brief outage. The branch falls off and the circuit resets automatically with no need for the utility company to respond. These devices are monitored at the company’s trouble center and they know immediately when one is triggered. When such a fault occurs due to a branch, it’s pretty intense as the branch connects all 3 high voltage phases together and the ensuing “explosion” is often mistaken for a “blown transformer”. The fact is, that transformers rarely explode. It’s the fuse that controls the transformer that lets go with a large pop. A recloser will attempt to reset 3 times and then it will lock out. At that point the utility company responds, patrols the entire circuit, clears the fault, if any, and then will call in to the trouble center to have the circuit re-energized remotely.

    Yeah buddy.
The Feeder that connects to the urban lines that feed our area has Reclosers on all the phases......
In this case one of them failed and did not reset......The pwr co told me that it was a component failure.....

Pretty much had to be the recloser that died.......The crew did not require long to fix it.........

WE went to breakfast and when we got back things were back up.....They decided to wait until daylight to do it....So it was not a case of a remote access reset.........

A branch across a couple phases can get exciting......A 1 inch branch goes poof......Summer time fire season they set the trip to go to lockout immediately.....Don't need to set things on fire.....

Last summer we had a few days that several areas were shut off to keep that danger to a minimum.....

The other day I was doing an IOS update on my iphone 8 plus and got to reading about the updates that were going to be available.....some time in 2023 the 8 plus will drop off the list of units that will receive updates.

    Arrrrrrrgh
Seems like we just got our 8 plus phones the other day.
Not wanting to wait until the last dog is hung to do anything and have important apps like BANKING stop working......Decided to get in the loop and see wasssssup as far as the new phones goes.

We have 2 iphones (personal) and a couple Samsung Droids that we use as hot spots in the house (No cable or Fios here.....Cellular is the only tune in town)

I am not a big fan of the droid.....Started with iphones back in 2011 when the 4 was the hot deal.......

So I am reading all the materials and reviews on the new iphone 14 series.

    14...14 plus....14 pro....14 pro max....../OMG......Boggle the mind.....

Anyway the plan was to keep with the larger form factor phone but did not want all the superfluous gizmos that we don't use.

Decided on the 14 plus......Nearly the same feel and operation as our 8 plus without a major relearn for the HOOOOMANS to be able to run the beasts...

    ....AND 5 years of updates

We were at the AT&T store about 2 hours to get things all switched over and out the door.

Had a few glitches to sort out....Nothing real major.....Just some adjustments so all the apps working.

Pretty much back to Bizzz as usual now......

The 14 plus has a nice sized screen
The one thing that stands out....The onboard stereo speaker system is awesome .....If you play Youtube videos.....Its nice

I am not into having the latest phone or computer gadget .....IF IT'S WORKING.....LEAVE IT ALONE AND USE IT.....
