The 2n1 works well, when I got the grinder it was a game changer. I wished I had gotten one sooner. Cut till it’s dull put a fresh chain on and repeat. Sharpen in the shop on spare time.

I like the 2 in 1 sharpener for a quick touch up in the field, but as was said, I pull the flat files out for 3-4 sharpenings. I prefer the carry extra sharp chain and grind on the bench program as well. I also have a crap load of chains, like 40-50 of various lengths etc. Grinder pays off for me.
IME it's about 80% logger cord to stacked cord. The logger or pulp cord has a lot more air gap than a split stacked cord.

I have the 362c and 180c combo myself and it's worked out well for me for over 4 years now. I only process 3-4 cords a year on average. Mostly oak. That 180 has no problems with 12"+ oak. I like it because its light and cuts well.

I also use the 2n1 for the 362. It's quick and makes the chains cut like new. Also, it seems to remove very little from the chain as compared to a bench grinder. I am not good at freehand.

With near blizzard conditions Monday night into Tuesday afternoon, they are forecasting another 7-12” of snow.

I cleaned up around the wood pile and got the stuff I’ve bucked into a stack. I think I’ll have close to 7 chord stacked from what I’m seeing at the moment.

6 rows wide (16”), about 40” tall and 5’ across the base so far.

I cleaned up around the pile bases so I can clean up after the snow come Tuesday.

I’d have gotten more done, but had to take dad (84) to go see mom (82) at the nursing home. She had a stroke in Feb ‘21 and has been in a memory care unit for dementia that was made much worse from the stroke. A twice weekly trip for us every Wednesday and Sunday.

Yeah, the metal one isn’t impressing me. The handle is slippery with chore gloves on. I’m considering wrapping it with hockey tape to overcome that. The 2-piece design likes to come apart. I’m actually considering a tack weld on it, it’s that bad.

I like the 2 in 1 files out in the woods. With these you can quickly get back to cutting with a sharp chain. But they are a bit aggressive with the rakers.

I got an Oregon 310-120 bench grinder for Christmas that I'm going to start using. It's a bit more affordable than other models, but it appears it will do any kind of saw chain.

Not to hijack the thread, but..... Have thought often about getting a chain grinder. I've nearly pulled the trigger on a Maxx chain grinder. Anyone have any experience with that brand?
Although the evening or foul weather in the shop with beer, loud music and a file is very therapeutic. A grinder might ruin that.

I don't, but the Super Jolly is also very therapeutic. Watching the sparks fly satisfies your inner fire bug:thumbs:

I couldn't agree more. I ended up buying a square grinder and have zero regret. I'm sure you will be able to replace time spent filing with something just as enjoyable. And you will get a more precise/consistent cut with the results of grinding (if done right). I wish I would have done it sooner.

Can you do a comparison video of a square grind vs a round grind for cutting benefits?
