    Struck up a conversation with a local tree guy about a year ago and he told me whenever I need wood, just let him know. He has about 4 or 5 burners he drops rounds off to, otherwise he has to pay to take them to the dump.
    Came home from work Friday to this in the driveway. Guessing its about 1.5 cord of Red Oak. Split and stacked about a third of it and filled one of my half cord racks. This is the third load he has dropped off in about a year. Great guy! Wish I had more room. He said he could fill my driveway in 3 days if I wanted.

    Doesn't get much better than that getting free wood delivered, unless they split it for you too :D

    Stack it higher, takes a few years for oak to season & burn well.

    That is super great Merle. I'd be sure to pass along something really nice to that guy showing your appreciation and respect.

    I do hope you are aware of the length of time it takes red oak to properly dry! We give it 3 years in the stack minimum.
