We had a nice butternut tree go down in June, 2022. There were no limbs on the tree for the first 35 feet. I was able to get four logs out of the tree. The top log was questionable ... but it did produce some nice wood to try epoxy on. In the end the Butternut produced about 600 board feet of quality lumber.

All of the butternut trees in our area died off or was hit by lightning.

Beautiful wood! Thanks for sharing with us. What disease attacked the Butternut trees, does anyone know? As far as I am aware there are none this far south.
