Twas 22F and no wind right after lunch. Fired up some equipment and spent a couple hours making firewood. Bummer is it's 29 now and getting greasy. Got 5-6 downed trees to try and get tomorrow before I can't get around. I sure wish winter would come and stay. 50's and rain by the weekend. Back to mush and nasty. 20221226_124126.jpg 20221226_124146.jpg 20221226_124421.jpg

Nice! Perfect firewooding weather for you AC. Same here, gonna be mush by weeks end. Gotta move some wood the next few days while the ground is solid. What i wouldnt give for a couple months of below freezing temps with minimal snow.

It actually works quite well too
I hope so, rain and mud really puts a damper on production.
Thanks Lyle. It works well enough it may even get a paint job.

For sure, I got it reasonable used and it's a decent machine, but some of the design makes me wonder if they've ever actually used one.

We have the same prediction here, mid 50's by end of week. So the 15'x8' ice rink I have in my yard will melt, then more rain to come Sat night into Sunday. I wish it would just stay frozen at this point. Hate the mud.

Went back at it today. It was a perfect day for cutting. Cut up a dead Elm on one property, dumped the load and picked up a Cherry and a bigger Elm. The second property is a friend and she let's us use her little tractor. Don't have to haul mine. 20221227_131101.jpg 20221227_101844.jpg 20221227_131114.jpg 20221227_131101.jpg 20221227_100438.jpg That's Lina running the tractor. 4'11" and 87lbs. She will out work any teenage boy I have hired. She's very good with equipment and does a fair bit of the splitting and loading. 20221227_165108.jpg Got a good bit split too.

She will certainly be invited. Bit of an introvert, but you never know.

Great day to work in the woods, before it gets greasy. That's the worst, when the ground is frozen and the top layer starts melting and slick.
