Deer jerky in the dehydrator. First time using the excalibur. We got this for free last year. Our friend ordered one and they shipped two, they said to keep it. Worcestershire, soy, garlic salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and Teriyaki. Pre soaked with curbing salt then rinsed prior.
Finished shoveling, AGAIN!, and took a hot shower. I’ve had all I can stands and I can’t stands no more! WHAT A STORM! Still coming down hard now!
Disaster today at the house. Upstairs waterline had burst and was flooding like crazy. Had trouble locating the water main in the snow and due to recent installment of a new flush hydrant in our yard, I feared it was buried. This went on in the freezing cold for an hour until we found the meter and shut the water off. My den is a disaster- but fortunalty it was contained to one room. So thankful a friend who hunts the farm ad woods around it came over and stubbed off the line. All weekend the boiler temp at the furnaces was not keeping up. I shut off the boiler thermostat on one furnace and reverted to the normal unit. I went outside to the boiler and the new circulation pump was making a racket. so the pump is shut down. Hoping first thing Monday I can get the guy out. Now I am due for a remodel of the downstairs den and have to deal with a boiler not working. So mentally draining.
Twas the Night Before Christmas (re-told) written by DeeDee Cooper Twas the night before Christmas And all through the world Not a child was seen praying Everyone's mind in a whirl They had finished their shopping But praise and joy was not found Decorations were getting ready To be all taken down. There was not a present Wrapped with love and with joy It was all about finding the most expensive toy The one they all wanted But to play with, they wont They wanted it so that To their friends they could gloat Christmas shoppers aren't merry They seem sad most the time Complaining about money Not wanting to spend their last dime But they will keep on shopping And then go home and be done Then they'll wrap all the presents And fill the stockings they hung. what happened to Christmas To the joy and the cheer what happened to presents That you'd make through the year what happened to Jesus And the stories we told what happened to carolers Singing out in the cold Why is it that Christmas Now only comes with a price The greatest gift of them all Was our Lord's sacrifice. Twas the night before Christmas I will call my grand-kids Read them the Christmas book And remind them of this It's not about presents wrapped in a bow or a toy It's about Mary and Joseph And the birth of their boy It's the story of Christmas That many seem to forget But the one that we need to Put top on our list. Merry Christmas
Happy birthday TurboDiesel and Buck55 !!! Merry Christmas everybody! Lol. No, I I got that done way early this year. Friday afternoon. Lol
A quick load from the pile to top off the porch and shop racks. My system this year has been working pretty good. I stacked about a face cord on a rack on the porch. That gets carried in the house two canvas totes at a time which gives a good evenings burn and some to stoke up for all nighters. The firewood shed is about 20 ft from the porch. It holds about 2 1/2 cords. I use the canvas totes to carry from there in the house and leave the porch for the missus or quick evening grabs. The carryall on the tractor gets filled and parked under the lean to. Throughout the day, as I wonder out back to use the bathroom, I grab a arm load and bring back in the shop for the Woodchuck wood furnace. All in all, it’s a good system. I just need to get better at loading the shop stove for all nighters. Trouble is that my real job conf calls and dropping grandkids at school/daycare keeps me from making it back out there till 11:00 am most days. And I’m too stingy to put in a heater to leave on to maintain the concrete floor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
