I hope they have over forecasted here too. We are ready for the storm but rather not have to be. Lol. The plan is to stay inside till it breaks Sunday. No animals or anything else to tend to outside.

We only got 3-4 inches of snow and it looks to be over now. Cold and wind will be up next. I am glad I grew up in a time where there was no wind chill to freak out about

 

I'm at the dentist and this song comes on.

 

Morning All Still below freezing and no new snow. Snow could happen today. Didn't get my present finished yet as we took a drive down island again. Christmas shopping again. Roads were bare which made it an easier trip than last time.
No matter comes up, I am staying home today and finishing the present.

Good afternoon all. Going up to 40 today with a fe w flurries. Tomorrow a high of 9*. Don't think we are going to get much if any snow.

Grocery shopping - done. I was there at opening.
Fill 7 gal water jug - done.
Dental appointment - done
Secure outdoor items - done
Bring wood to the deck - done.

Boiled 6 eggs just to have. Same with some tuna salad.

Flue shot in a few hours.

 

Wow yall are being productive.
I got a couple hours sleep, and Sca Jr and I brought 2 trailers of wood up to the house.....not storm prep, but to finish off (hopefully) what we'll need for the winter. About a cord brought up...6.5 for the season.

Good afternoon! 36F and cloudy, a little misty. Supposed to get nasty this evening. Ran through over a cord of wood in various increments yesterday at the roadside stand. I didn't even try to keep up. Refilled more this morning and brought an extra tote up to the staging area. After work I need to get 2 vehicles in the barn (didn't happen yesterday) and put the bucket on the skid steer. Then settle in for a long winter's nap, or at least some rest. Off through Monday and don't plan on going outside much. Have a God day!

 

Note to self: wear a jacket or else the world might find out that I am all leg.

 

There's nothing wrong with legs that go all the way to the floor.

Morning! -9f here. Frozen pipes in the upstairs so I have a hair dryer serenading Mrs. Sourwood’s dreams. Forgot to let the trickle go.

At sunrise I will go out and check the boiler and round up some branches for filler through the day. Then get the fireplace going for a little atmosphere.

everyone stay safe in this bitter cold. Of course for some Hoarders, this is Friday and not a significant thing

 

Good morning All,
I haven't been on FHC at all for several years until recently. I was burning wood in the country until my wife decided that we should move to town. I told my sad story back when it was all happening. Some wise person on FHC said that likely his wife would be moving to town all by herself. What I now know is that the move to town was the first phase of a plan to rid herself of me. Fast forward to now - I am back out in the country burning wood again. This cold weather has been a test for my little stove but it is doing pretty good, although it would need to be loaded every 4 hours to keep the house comfortably warm. Life is good once again!

 

Good morning! -10F and light flurries. The photo was overnight looking over part of the wood yard. We got less than 2" of snow. I'm off until Tuesday so we're doing chores in the house today to prep for Christmas. I found a local tree service on Marketplace that was offering pear already split so I ordered a face cord for Wednesday. Have a Good day!

It's kinda cold here today......like - 5° sposta worm up to 13 later.
Our shoes were all frozen to the floor this morning....
The Christmas tree bucket leaked on the floor, and the water is now frozen.



No definite plans for the day......
