We're pretty much on the water so I will be shocked if we get any sn*w out of this. I'm one who actually likes sn*w but I saw the temps here are going to be in the 40's. It's already 40 here. Enjoy your snow Bogie.

I can attest the old oil furnace blower does circulate the pellet stove heat rather well. And the fan can be controlled automatically with a thermal switch. :D

Well, that changed to 12-18" of wet, heavy snow. Which means I'll be out with the blower 3-4 times trying to keep things from getting to heavy and deep to move. Fortunately I only have a couple of meetings today and I can do productive work during the weekend if I need to. Fortunately my boss is cool and understanding about such things.

Weather was beautiful today......We got shell run #4 in the books.......Was about 40F today....Dry east wind blowing
A great crop this year too....Likely be doing at least one more run before we shut down for the summer.

If we get hammered this winter we might even do two more runs.......

Still have a little bit to clear from the dumpster in the morning.....Need to run Munchy too and fill up the barrels in the basement with Stove Ready materials....

Am feeling really comfortable having things full up......

Blew the wet 4.5" of tightly packed snow from 10-11 am (my lunch time). Then went back out and shoveled/ blew another 3" or so at 3:30 pm. Snowed some overnight too, so will deal with it later when the neighbors have had a chance to wake up. At least the temp has stayed a constant 33-34* since the system started so some melting has continued. Roof was dumping constantly yesterday but still is loaded up. Pictures taken shortly before 8am on Friday

Edit: And 5 minutes after I posted, the road grader is making its two passes. Neighbors better start waking up so I can get out there and deal with the berm before it becomes impossible to deal with :D

Got 12-15" here B, went out at 4pm yesterday and did the 1st pass, w/ a solid 9" on the ground.

Another 5-6" out there this morning.
Yeah, 5am is a "little" early to fire up the sn*w monster. :D

    Happy Holidays all, Rob

Was raining when I went to bed, woke up to 1-2 in of wet snow on everything. Went out to my brother's place in Greenville (about 60 miles west of me) and they got about a foot. Got back home a while ago and most of our snow has shrunk way down or disappeared.

I started the 3rd pass at 6 am and finished at 7:30. There was 4" or so from the overnight so got a total of 11-12". Then about 11 I went to the elderly neighbor's and shoveled his walkway and porch, then grabbed the snow blower and punched a hole thru the berm and cleared a wide path to connect to what I had shoveled so there was emergency access. His plow guy had done some work on Friday, so the berm wasn't horrible, but he hadn't cleared anything else yet. Also checked on the guy and did a short grocery run for him. Plow guy showed up about 8pm last night and took care of the rest of the berm and parking area, so it's all set now.

I have a new neighbor (moved in the end of October) and they did not deal with any of the snow until Saturday afternoon. They were using shovels, which I'm sure was an epic battle against the snow plow berm from the totality of the storm. I was actually thinking about checking on them because they hadn't done anything at all and their 3 cars had been there since before the snow started. I'll bet they rethink their strategy, and maybe their tools, for the next decent sized storm.

Hard to believe that they had about 1 1/2 months since they moved in, and only had shovels. Any idea where they moved from?

I do not know - I'm guessing either they were from further south or perhaps the seacoast area that doesn't get much.

Real glad we got the shell run in when we did.....
Cold weather coming.....AND SOME ICE/SNOW AND OR COLD/WET
Can't do shells in the rain...

Always a big deal trying to coordinate when we can saddle up the outfit and make a run....
The weather, if it's nice on a weekend that kills it.....The plant is usually closed Sat/Sun
Friday was perfect (Good as it gets in the winter) Dry at least and the wind was calm at the house.....

Cleaned the little stove out good,

Last night we actually shut the little stove off at around 7 PM house was 76 F
70 F in here this morning still......

Been thinking about replacing our old Suburban as it is now nearly 28 years old......Really hate to get into another car payment....

Shopped around for a newer rig......10 years newer would be nice.....Still looking at $10,000.00 or more ...And someone else's problems.....

Decided to spend some $$$$ and fix up the old Burb..

Going to rebuild the front end....Brake calipers, pads, rotors, ball joints, tie rods , pitman arm, idler arm...........This will get the old girl in far better shape.......

Going to add a fresh lower seat cover on the drivers side.....Old one is a bit sad.....

Sometime before us the hood was repainted and now the clear coat is peeling off....UGLY

The rest of the rig looks nice.....Going to see if we can scare up a used hood the right color instead of repainting it......

Rig has zero rust......worth fixing it up.......Tranny is good and engine runs like a champ....Has the Big moose motor.....Loves to eat.....but earns it's keep....

Just livin' life. No real sense comparing snow, as I am up in the mountains. We are about normal, for a regular year, not like the last 3-5. But, we have and are cold, more like normal, that we have not seen in probably the last 6-8 years. Has been below 0 4 times, and coming again tonight or tomorrow. "Snowed" all last week, finally plowed, was less than a foot, and all powder. Went temp's drop, run both stoves, because "I can", LOL!
