Curious if the Harman's have a flame differerence between a so so(AKA junk) pellet and a good one? Do you notice the difference in flame intensity between the good stuff compared to the blah stuff??

Or does the control comp to keep a consistent flame no matter the pellet?

I notice the difference in the color of the flame from a yellow/orange colder flame to a blue/green hotter flame.

I never noticed any flame difference (may not have payed attention to it) but I usually noticed more ash when using so-so pellets and somewhat lower heat being produced.

Burning cheaper ones right now, stove burns same, as usual, exhaust probe takes care of that, but, as mentioned, flame color different, more ashes.

Nope, neither stove throws different "style" flames regardless of pellet. Even the lukewarm burning Therma Glo's gave a good flame. The difference between pellets is always between and and heat output of the air exchanges. My unscientific but standard method for measurement of heat coming from the P43 air exchange runs anywhere from too cold to bother, to 225 (blackstone, infernos, Natures Own, Prestos), to the top end of 325 for Lauzon Fusion Blend (1st pic).

Those even beat out the La Cretes (the hottest I've ever burned and recorded temp for). Disclaimer: I did not run temps for Cubex, Hamers, Orfords or early Blazers

    TSC MWPs, GS & FWU's run 235-245.

My place is small, so I can get away with middling pellets and save money while doing it. If you have an area that is at the top range of the stove's capabilities, then you would probably need to buy higher quality/dollar pellets to be satisfied.

Thanks all! We're thinking of putting something out in the catio/porch area. And the XXV has crossed our minds. Now to just find a decent used one that isn't gonna break the bank.

Mainly want a less tinkery type of stove in the cast style. I have enough tinkering going on with the Omega and the junk we throw in it. Be nice to have a stove I wont need to think about, besides a bi-weekly cleaning.

I have a Harman Accentra and a Enviro Omega. I usually burn Somersets and have a bright yellow/whiteish flame color. If I burn junk pellets it’s much more orange like. The heat difference is considerable between junk and somersets.

Don't forget you will need to just clean it, but feed it too  . I only say that because at least once at the beginning of the season, I manage to let the stove run out and wonder why it is cold

I don't really see a difference in the flame...but...the ash! Vermonts burn so well there is almost no ash. NEWPs burn fine but there is at least double the ash. No worries though. The stove just deals with it. SO happy with my Accentra 2!
