    That’s sweet. I’m still trying to figure out how to differentiate sugar from silver.

    Leaf wise, sugar is more rounded and silver is more pointed. Bark wise, sugar is more furrowed and silver is more flaky. Someone will probably be along shortly with pics.

    Silver has flakier/scalier bark and usually grows in clumps. Most i see are yard plantings as its fast growing. IMG_1616.JPG IMG_1620.JPG

    2nd outlying, lol. Had to pick through some gargantuan rounds to get to the Goldilocks ones, haha.

    One thing I noticed was that when fresh cut, the sugar maple had a orange reddish look, similar to when I’ve seen Doug Fir rounds online.
