Yes a 38 is a great round for PD. I have a .25 auto in my truck always, because I have a ton of ammo for it. It's super compact. And I'm aware I'd probably need to unload all 8 rds to stop someone solely with the .25, but I don't have an issue with that. I carry a bigger caliber for CC anyway.

I had a Ruger LCR in .38spl, that I carried for awhile. It was +P rated and packed a punch. I doubt those old little derringers can shoot any of the (even halfway) hot/current .38 loads. Current ones, yes.

I upgraded to a S&W Shield in 9mm, which I feel is a better carry caliber, and reloads MUCH faster.

Did you find yourself in a bad spot and the weapon saved your rear? Like a run in with a fierce creature(4 legged or 2 legged)?

Everyone knows a 22 will stop a bear. Shoot your partner in the knee and walk out, the bear stops at your partner! o_O:smoke:

You're not concerned with all of the unintentional discharges even when the trigger wasn't pulled or touched? It's a huge deal here in Wisconsin, among other states and departments. Looks like Wyoming State patrol lost faith in them due to accidental discharges as well.

I just heard that city of Milwaukee had a lawsuit because of these, but apparently just withdrew the lawsuit after switching to Glocks. There were injuries to police officers from the p320 discharges. What's crazy is that it seems like an easy solution regarding a spring change, that sig refused to do.

Speaking of 38. I just got this nice little Colt Cobra from my brother-in-law in a trade for a 1/10 ounce gold American eagle.
It is light compact revolver and sure carries nice. I think it is the same size as the Colt detective special, but it has an aluminum frame, so no +p rounds will be cycled through it.

All updated and I’m confident. I carry a double/single P290RS so most of these are strategically located.

Came to own a FN Hipower, 1972 from a serial number lookup.

Had some pachmyer grips that I swapped for original walnut grips.

Nice. I was just watching a short video last week about that firearm. It's interesting how John Moses Browning had a major hand in designing that, and basically had to recreate the 1911 without infringing on his own patents for the 1911.

This is a pistol I've had for a few years, a clone of the Hipower. Bought at a gun shop used for $300. It's made by FEG, called a PJK-9HP.
    This is a Hungarian "Hipower".

A buddy of mine calls me out of the blue yesterday and wants my Baby Browning from the 60’s in 25 ACP.
He knew I had it cuz he was standing beside me at the auction where I bought it.
He said his wife needs it and offered me $800. I declined.

If it’s for her to purse it I think she needs a different caliber if she can handle it? And SHE needs to choose it not him?

Just picked up another Ruger SP101 in a trade. A 357 snubby, DAO, no hammer spur and an integrated rear sight. So nothing to get caught on your clothing when pulling it. 5 shot. I think it will make a good carry gun. It’s the bottom one my 8 round 22 is on top.

ole I have one of those. Bought it in the late eighties. Not as nice as that. Your friend should look at those little Berretas with the flip up barrel. I would guess she would struggle with working the slide to charge such a small pistol.

your baby is sound investment. Been buying auction guns the past few years. I think increase since 2015 - most have increased around forty percent.
