The chimneys have been cleaned, the shed has been filled and I have replaced the cat in the Fire view and I put a new door seal on the Shenandoah in the basement.
I'm closer than I was, my stove is still in W. Lebanon NH but will be here soon. I have a date for the sweep in early Oct and the wood is ready, just needs to be moved onto the covered porch in mid-Oct.
Wood's been in the shed since early summer, I cleaned the flue when I installed the 30 in March. I'd like to clean it again before we start burning hard. I just need to wipe off the dust from the top of the stove, vacuum the blower, and I'll be gooder to go.
We did everything about three weeks ago, I hope the burning season holds off longer this year compared to last year.
I'm pretty much ready. I DO want to get into the fireplace chase and clean the dust off of the top of the NZ, also want to polish the 1900p and the stovepipe in the kitchen. And I'm still kicking around the idea of making an air venturi for the NZ to help prevent smoke "roll-out" on reloading. Other than that I'm ready......
I've thought about the same idea for our Liberty. One of those... every once in a while it rolls smoke out when I load.
Ready to try this Shaver forced air that we just finished installing. Ready to start gathering wood for next 2 years soon.
Been ready since the end of April! Chimney and stove cleaned then, last of the wood stacked then too. I haven't touched the stove or the chainsaw since then. I still have another month or so before I begin burning anything indoors.
I have to clean the chimney, replace the door gasket on the Endeavor, finish filling the wood shed and service the oil boiler. I hope to do all of this in the next 2 weeks.
I like to wait to service the stove and clean the chimney until a month before I'm going to start burning. That way I know everything is good to go.
My hearth looks nearly the same way, EMPTY!! Looks like you and I will be busy on the same day with our heaters, Mine is due for pickup on the same day as your install.
I need a window gasket too. I'll run the soot eater down the liner in a couple of weeks. I like a little nip in the air before I start really thinking about firing it off. Some of you have way more to do than I. Good luck with your installs!
Gotta get the new door gasket on the 30 and Lil' Brother. Get the wood rack on the back porch ready and fill it. All else is set to go. Bring er' on................
Worked a bit more at this, this morning. Took the blower off and cleaned well, made some rubber feet for the bottom of the blower support which quieted it a bit, dropped the cat shield and took a look (all good), ran a brush down the liner (nothing there). Only thing left is move wood to the patio in about a month.
We could start burning tonight if need be. However, there is a bit of work to do yet and the most work is bringing wood to the barn. Waiting for cooler air before that is done, so that means sometime in October. Perhaps November as I can always keep wood in the rack on the porch for early burning.
