32 and it looks like we might get some sunshine today....then 36 hours of rain and temps in the upper 50's....then highs in the lower 30's. If you don't like the weather wait a day and it will change. I've been flying through all the firewood I was given a couple weeks ago. I knew it was soft but didn't think it was that soft. Oh well, it was free and it makes heat.
Fire in the hole LN and today, lows got down to 25 LN and highs in low 40's today. Oak and more oak keeping that furnace from running
34 and 67 thhis morning. Oak is doing its thing. It is very windy here with a chance of rain moving in later this afternoon.
55 and rain. Headed to 61 so no fire at the moment. Forecast for the week is highs in the 40's lows in the 20's. Red oak and hickory on standby. Mike in Okla
Supposed to get some ice then heavy wet snow with winds over 40mph beginning this evening. 12" is going to land by one forecast; more snow according to others. We'll see what the next day or so brings. Not much faith in forecasters (gloom and doom) and even less (if possible) in journalists the last few years.
35 and dropping fast as the sun is going down. My wife did a good job keeping the stove fed with ash shorties all day. I just switched over to spruce for the evening, to buy me some time before I have to shovel out the stove again.
It's been 30-34F cloudy, damp and a miserable east wind since Saturday I think. Too warm for the ground to freeze and too damp to enjoy outdoors. I can't wait till winter shows up if it does this year. Boiler loaded with Oak. Steady 72 in the house and shop. Another year that I should've put up way more shoulder wood.
76/33, 4 year seasoned Ash, dogwood and tulip poplar blazing in the fireview. Dog is roasting her brain in front of the stove.
35f and raining. Hickory, Ash, Honey Locust, and a stick of Oak I believe. Picking just the right size splits to fill her up before bed.
68/36 just loaded 3 large Oak splits. Good enough for this mild stretch. Looking at mid 40's tomorrow! It's been raining all day long. Good stove appreciation day.
15 here. I just loaded Pine and Spruce splits into the Wood Gun. They won’t last long, but I’ll be in and out all day and can add more when needed.
