    Stove 2.0

OK - here goes, an in depth picture-heavy write up of the process for getting us a stove in our lounge/sitting room/great room (or whatever terminology you want to use dependent on your location!)

This room and the rooms above were an extension to the original house by the previous owner in around 2008 - it was built without a chimney and I didn't want a 'chip-shop' extract vent style flue up the outside of my house so we did this:-

1 - drill hole thru wall multiple times at 45° to create a 'gert big' hole

    2 - daylight!

3 - board it up quick, that was cold!

    4 - let's tile a hearth

5 - test fit the flue pipes n stuff

6 - how about outside I hear you say... OK we did this

7 - sit back, relax and enjoy!

Looks very good. Looks like that stove will put out a lot of heat as well as looking stylish. What make and model is it? How many kW or btu?

It's an ABX 'Vigo' stove that is rated at 6kw

As a lot of the flue and the whole stove is 'in the room' it can belt out a lot of heat! Useful though as that room has 3 sets of double doors leading the rest of the house so it does a good job of heating a lot more than just the lounge.
