I hear ya. I almost didnt stop when mine happened. No saws for a couple weeks then top handles only. I think i was stacking the next day. Used the splitter soon there after. Wasnt 100% efficient, but better than no wooding at all. All joking aside...welcome to the club! Wish i hadnt joined either.
Here's one for the books. I came home from a ball game tonight and checked my roadside firewood stand like I always do. It was dark but something looked off. Here's what I found. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
Oh deer! Were they bartering with venison or did he crash the stand? Did a motorist hit it in front of the stand?
It's a mystery so far. I'll clean the mess up tomorrow in the daylight. I'm not sure how it got there but I'm thinking it ran straight into the stand and broke its neck or back. It certainly left a mess behind and I probably won't be able to sell the wood either. There was no evidence of a crash in the road or driveway that I could see. Sent from my QTAXIA1 using Tapatalk
It's doing remarkably well. I still can't really lift with that hand so I'm not running saws because I'm concerned that a 72 CC pro saw could get away from me pretty easily. Other than that I can do most anything but just a little slower. Sent from my QTAXIA1 using Tapatalk
I gave that a thought but it's young and pretty small. I don't know what kind of internal injuries it likely has so it probably isn't worth processing for a minimal amount of meat. Now I just have to clean the mess up. Sent from my QTAXIA1 using Tapatalk
It's just getting dumped in the woods. Don't know if it was sick or if anything was wrong with it. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
That shows a lot of dedication there, my hat's off to you! Sounds like around ten acres would be perfect for your addiction.
I did something similar last year with my pinkie finger. It is mostly fine now, just a slight loss of feeling and movement. It was a wake up call to me to be more careful and aware. I hope you heal fast and well! Brad
Deer are nuts. I had one break into the hen house and injured itself freaking out because the door closed behind it. I had to carefully open the door from around the corner and that thing took off on three legs like an explosion down the hill. What a terrible time for that to happen to you!
