What scam that was. Calling just a few miles away was a long distance charge. Now no such thing. Have to wonder what it was all about in the first place. I think the internet put an end to that issue.
I remember 2 digit telephone numbers, phones with no dials, and to place a call all you had to do was pick up the phone and tell the operator who you wanted to talk to. I guess I am old
I remember 4 digit dialing back in the 80s. Now, our cell phone requires 10 digit calling. I guess this is going to be the new standard all over.
