I remember telling the operator what three digit number we wanted to call. Sometimes we had to wait for neighbors to get off the line so we could use it.
Brought wood up to the house, didn't really need that much wood but I need to make room for all of the red oak I CSS. My front porch area is overflowing with wood.
Took care of some odds and ends around the house today. Cut a little more firewood. Split and stacked it. Took rear tractor tire off yesterday and brought it to shop so they could put a tube in it. I, and they, couldn’t find anything in the tire, like a screw or nail. Might have been the stem I guess. Anywho, picked that up this afternoon and brought it home and got it back on. Heavy little….. Anywho. Now I don’t have to worry about having to keep topping that off with air anymore. Then my neighbor and I worked hard at splitting a 6-pack of cold Blue Light bottles. The help I give that guy. I tell ya.
The truck showed up at 7am - impressive since their shop is an hour (or more) away. Then they had to wait for a couple of helpers and I have no idea when they arrived since I was in a meeting. First picture taken at 8:45 am. The base of the shed is together and in place with a pile of pars around it. The came and got me for consult of how/where exactly on the site I wanted the base once it was built and level. 10 am, starting to take shape These next two pictures weren't taken until 3 pm, but they were done just before noon. I know they were done at noon because I had just gotten into my noon meeting when they knocked on the door for me to do the walk thru/inspection. Fortunately not all attendees were in the meeting yet, so I took 5 minutes, gave them the thumbs up and got back to my meeting. Picture taken from the south side Picture taken from the southwest I had originally planned on having it installed turned 90* clockwise with the window on the short end on the south side and the double doors on the west side. When he got here, I asked if the ends were swappable (original plan was the single window would be on the other end). When they confirmed that could be done, I turned the orientation. Fortunately I had the foresight to have the landing made big enough to do that.
I think it will pick up again for you later today like it is doing for us right now. Yesterday here was really nice, near 50°. Currently up to 50 mph gusts here, but sustained 15-25 mph. The wind advisory is supposed to end by 9am though and be 20 mph then lowering to 11 mph by late afternoon. Today, my wife and I are helping our elderly friends a few miles away with getting their first real Christmas tree in decades. We'll hit one of the "cut your own tree" spots, and then I'll get it inside and in the stand. No, they don't allow chainsaws
Lots of rain overnight and into this morning. It's very muddy and I'm lacking motivation to do.. anything. More rain expected later.
Colorado had zero are codes as a kid, and like tree killer my cool Grandparents had a party line and 3 or 5 digit dialing. Then long distance started, all the same area code but it was long distance to other cities. Flash forward to today there are 3 are codes. And it's not a big deal because everyone has their cell # from a different place that requires 10 digit dialing anyway. Crazy!
