The little bog after start up is probably just clearing out the fuel. Is it within a couple seconds after start up or 30?
Few seconds off high idle. I guess its just me. Im so used to instant revs after startup. This saw is the second i have with auto tune. My 576 revs right up no prob.
I had a 576 and it was like you say. The 562/550 don't seem to be like that. They need 10-15 seconds of idle with a blip or two to get ready to go.
I have to say, I messed up the warm start procedure with that saw more than once. Got me all frustrated like and had to go rev the pizz outta my 441 to make myself feel better.
Yep, I had to youtube how to start it. Because staring at it wasn't helping. But once I learned, we are both on the same page now...
Have had a 550 for over a year now.... No probs other than the warm start up procedure learning curve . Its a fantastic fun saw. Best 50cc saw ive had in my hands
If you haven't done so. Find a good sized (12"-14") log and cut a tank worth of cookies. Mine acted sorta like that but once dialed in ran great. After doing the procedure above everything got better.
For autotune saws, Husky recommends running cookies for three minutes without letting up on the throttle. Full throttle cutting cookies sets the carb settings. You need to do that on the maiden startup and every time you change elevation.
Before the GTG I ran several tanks through several saws. Only cutting cookies. If I had cut the logs into firewood? I would have maybe ran a half of a tank through one saw. Cookies allows you to run lots of fuel through a unit, in only a little bit of wood. And as Sinngetreu stated, it's the best way to dial in an AT/MT saw.
Yall's logs aren't big enough Seriously though if they say to do that i would too i guess?? Must be the WOT without the letoff that it needs
I have a few trees a few weeks ago I easily did that on. 18-20" hardwood. Cut most of the way through then move to next round. Well there is a split second off the throttle I guess.
Technically, its 3-5 minutes. I was working off of memory when I typed it last time. From the OM of my saw (page 29 555 OM) "Engine Adjustment The following steps should be taken when the chain saw is started for the first time or when outside circumstances change (fuel, altitude, air filter, etc): Start engine. Accelerate the engine to full throttle and saw a number of cuts in a thick log (3-5 min). The chain saw must be run (8,000 - 12,000 rpm) the entire time so that the carburetor can adjust itself. "
Just thinking out loud here. If it takes 3 minutes for the carb to adjust how can the m tronic feature try and save a saw from an air leak? Thinking out loud here... if were a small one maybe it can adjust overtime. No way to compensate for a catastrophic failure anyway.
My understanding is when it detects something completely out of wack it will switch to a safe mode turning the carb full rich.
