Great idea, those burn great. We started out storing those in 55 gal drums. Got 25 of those. Then we started building bins from plastic pallets to store them, got 2 4x4 and 2 4x8 size. We have used 1 IBC tote and a couple metal mesh bins. 0120201201_HDR.jpg 0907201307.jpg

Once or twice I didn’t take rounds (of premium wood) that were cut too short by a tree service. It went against my nature, but I thought it was better for me long term. Now I don’t have to be selective!

Those mesh bins are beautiful! I love how you can pop open one of the sides.

I to have an uglies bin. T posts and hog panels, about 40' long and wide enough to fit pallets in the bottom.

This is a good idea! I'm definitely going to steal it. I usually just throw the chunks and stuff that doesn't stack well, on top of my piles and just burn them as I get to them. It would be nice to have a designated spot for them though.

I like them too. Has that door the let's open. They will collapse down flat. Wish I could find more of them.

I cut only for our use. So, I don't end up with as many chunks as others. But, I still have to put them somewhere.

    Nice! Tidy and well built.
I hate putting them in a stack, because as we unstack, they need to be put somewhere again...PITA.

What were these originally? Fruit crates? They look great!

It was your thread that really got me thinking. Your ideas plus the ideas of some others here have been bouncing around in my head for weeks!

Here's one ive just started refilling. Half cord...4x4x4 inside dimensions. Pallet base and custom made. Ill stack the front with longer pieces and back fill. 14" the longest split. To be filled with one year drying woods. Currently mostly sugar maple.

If chunks and uglies gave you overnight burns, I think there are other, deeper questions to be asked.
