I have to switch to bifocals this year I guess. My question is does anyone have a source they would suggest for a reasonably priced pair? I would like to get transitions if possible. Someone mentioned to me a website called Seny optics, but can't find anything when I type that in.

Got to be fairly cheap, because I will destroy four or five pair a year. My job and life style is just hard on glasses.

They have a good selection and a handful of styles.
I needed new ones in 2 weeks to start my new job. They came through even when they didn't have stock.
    I bought 2 pr, 1 sunglasses, 1 clear lens.
Reasonable price, till you start adding coatings and stuff.
1 regular pair from my optometrist: $400 ish
2 pr from these guys: $300.

I was quoted over four hundred today. Had to walk. Funny thing I noticed was that they had a whole line of Elton John RX glass frames to choose from. Hilarious. Couldn't get the song "Daniel" out of my mind.:picard:

    Any time.
They did well by me, and didnt cost an arm and a leg. For too long I went without prescription sunglasses.....and crappy side guards for my regular glasses (=geeky in my profession).

    All the best!!

I ordered two pair of the more vintage looking safety glasses. My issue is fogging up.

I get safety prescription glasses but I order actual glass lenses. Mine are tryfocal progressive with some other crap. Being a machinist fabricator I used to blow through pairs of of plastic lenses living with progressively worsening scratches. Nice to be able to remove glues ect. with acetone and also not scratch them with gritty calloused fingers. They are etched in the corner with some safety mark.

I have been wearing bifocals for very long time I have some safety glasses with bifocals at the top and bottom I bought a long time ago, I use for workin under cars , I believe those glasses were ULINE, or maybe they were UVEX Safety Glasses, 3M Safety Glasses, Polarized Safety Glasses in Stock - ULINE - Uline I think I bought those from some safety store online
I don't have prescription glasses so I just buy the all my bifocal glasses other places
I buy some of my regular bifocal glasses I wear everyday from Boomers In The Know they have some bifocal safety glasses there boomersintheknow.com
Amazon has many to choose from Amazon.com : bifocal safety glasses
Oh yeah also available there are stick on reusable bifocals that you can put on your own glasses also.
Here's another place with a lot of options Bifocal Safety Glasses - Safety Reading Glasses

If your glasses are real glass, that might help with fogging.

I wear progressive safety glasses. Our company uses Southern Optical. Seem to get good prices from them.

I had bad eyes as a kid and my glasses were glass. I don't remember them scratching as bad as my daughters glasses did. Someone told me today that you can use a spray called PLEXUS that will buff out and polish scratches on plastic lenses. I guess it was developed for the military for cockpit plastic domes. I've ordered a can of that and some of that cat crap from amazon. Thanks everyone.
