Well, I was able to move about 1-1/2 face cord today. Kept having to go do this or that and found a few other things that needed attention more than moving firewood. Will get back at it tomorrow, hopefully. Hoping all you Firewood Hoarders are enjoying heating your homes with the best kind of heat.
There was an awful lot of damage out there. One day I'll get there myself I guess. Still never been more than about halfway across the island.
BIG Island. We may just have to go there someday after we retire. We want to travel some in the United States and Canada.
Started the day with filling for Social Security. Scheduled to receive in January. Had a evening board meeting, then Lions Club for out Thanksgiving meeting. just loaded the OWB, now sitting down with a cup of decaf. Pretty chilly tonight. Cackling like a mad scientist in my cheap heat.
My wife's birthday is today. I stopped and got her flowers on my way home. That's what she likes, so I do it. We had snow crab and some sparkling white wine at home. I did all the dishes and most of the "cooking". Not really difficult at all, but she cooks and cleans all the time. Figured she could have the day off. I'm getting ready to go up North to go deer hunting this weekend. She'll stay at home, and maybe go out with our friends to a wine bar on Saturday night. I'd prefer to get a nice buck opening day and get home sooner rather than later. It's supposed to be record cold temps for opening weekend of gun deer season. There's a couple of inches of snow on the grind, but only 3-5". I might be sitting in the hut on the hunting land with the little pot belly stove going to stay warm and still be out in the woods. If/ when I can, I'll be in my tree stand.
Thank you! I'll tell her my FHC family wishes her a happy birthday. I'll be by myself at the land and camper, but if I get something big that I need help with, I can call a friend that lives a couple minutes away. One guy on an 80 acre woods is a lot of territory. I'll have my Dad with me in spirit. His ashes were spread right outside the hunting shanty.
As do I, I'd love to see Nova Scotia and PEI, British Columbia, the states surrounding the great lakes, Louisiana, Alaska, just to name a few. And a few places overseas as well, if I ever get the chance.
That's a nice, clean Suburban, Gasifier . Where did it come from? Well taken care of, no rust... Happy birthday to your wife Horkn . Good luck at the deer camp
I bought the Suburban from a retired couple in New Hampshire. Heated garage kept. My retired neighbor friend and I drove 5-1/2 hours to pick it up. Fortunately the weather was good and it turned out to be a nice day of driving.
Happy belated birthday for Mrs. Horkn Nice that you gave her a day off form dishes............now tell her to get back to work! Good luck hunting but what is this cold weather you speak of???
