What kind of wood did I just score?

Neighbors have acres of woods here in northwestern Missouri and they let me have whatever is dead or fallen down. Any idea what this is that I have and if it is good for burning in my wood stove?

Walnut it's decent firewood I don't pass it up.

Id say walnut too. Only have cut a small amount and it hand splits like cake.

Check for a "chambered" center pith in the splits. If so its BW.

Depends. The black walnut being viewed as "valuable" is a lot more work to make it that way. Plus many don't pass muster. Many would post their ever-valuable tree for hundreds or thousands stating "you can still make money!".... provided you had the right equipment.
