Hope you can stay off the highways for a bit. They are a disaster in our area. Pure ice south of us. Probably pretty similar in your area.
    -17 C (2 F) with a snowfall warning until tomorrow.

Yeah, I saw you guys over in Alberta were getting slammed with this, and yep, highways are crap here as well. We hunker down when we can, and sometimes we're stuck until the rm plows the road out. Such is life in Canada.

Windy day today. Because of how the Middle Tanana River Valley sits in relation to The Alaska Range. We get cold fronts that come down from the Arctic and deepen here. Then a wind will come from any direction of the compass ( predominantly Southeast) and blows it away very quickly most of the time.
It got up to 10 above today. But it's blowing 20 with gusts to mid 40s . More from the east today. Last night it warmed up quite fast. As the breeze got started.
Fire killed spruce in the stove in the house. With fks and a bit of birch in the coop shop stove.
Today was a sit and drink coffee day. After morning chores. I think tomorrow will be also. Plow truck , which has plugged fuel filters again is parked nose into the wind . So working under the hood isn't my idea of fun.

20 degrees cooler this morning over yesterday’s temp. I’m sure a fire will be started very soon.

This old house doesn't seem to like big temp swings. It makes cracking and popping noises just like the coppper pipes when/if the heat comes on.

Had a good 5" of fresh snow today. Storm is mostly over but the colder air is starting to come in. The lows are going to be in the teens now. The Ideal Steel is packed full of a mix of Lodgepole and Elm. It's 74 upstairs and 76 downstairs with the stove rippin away. Pretty neat view with a full moon and fresh snow.
