Just bought the house a year ago so slowly getting on the 3 year plan. This weekend I was enjoying the local public radio station playing classical music and Winter from Vivaldi's Four Seasons came on and I thought it was fitting music to be splitting firewood to. What do you guys listen to while you are splitting? I still do it all by hand so no engine running requiring earplugs.
When I run hydro, I religiously wear good ear plugs. Sharpening chain is where I enjoy a good tune. Been doing it all day here at the office. Currently listening to Pink Floyd Waiting for the worms.
I wear airpods inside my earmuffs while splitting. Blackberry Smoke is on heavy rotation in the woods.
Wear my yellow WorkTunes headphone/earmuff during allll my outdoor activities, AM talk radio for me. Sometimes it's classic rock.
My beats if I'm stacking or working with power equipment my beats with ear muffs... I go through all kinds of music depending on my mood... From CCM to country to old country to classic rock to tech nine (a local rapper) ...
Ear plugs while splitting with the splitter or cutting, usually just nature or the voices in my head while stacking or picking up. Its a ballgame otherwise, baseball during the spring/summer/early fall the football fall & winter.
I got a set of Worktunes ear muffs that are Bluetooth. I put in earplugs, but still can hear my music. Pandora kicks out the tunes I like, heavy on the Pink Floyd as well. I also like to use the headphones for listening to audiobooks as well.
I have Bose sound blocker ear muffs. I listen to just about anything I have on my Amazon music app. Could be old school rap, classic country, rock, modern country, alternative, frank sinatra and almost everything in the middle. I get bored with the same style music for too long
No music here. I have earplugs when i use the hydro. The rare instance i hand split i listen to natures sounds...birds, wind, the river in the ravine below our place if in working here.
I split by hand, so no need for hearing protection, but I don't listen to music. That's my quiet time. I get lost in the splitting and that's what I'm after.
Ear plugs only when needed and it's hot out. Otherwise Work Tunes listening to Air1 (worship) radio via bluetooth. Hard to get in a bad mood even when things don't work out as planned.
I dont listen to anything either when wooding. I guess there are outdoor sounds I like, want or need to hear. And, whatever I'd play, ccm, baroque, or whatever, everyone else would have to hear as well. A lot of the time, there's good conversation. And, I guess a portable speaker and the like, is more stuff to set up, take in when it rains.....
I listen to the beat of my breathing and the sound of the axe splitting the wood. So you like classical music.I'm teaching myself the piano and I'm working on a Beethoven piece.
I am too close to civilization to enjoy just the sounds of nature so I find classical music to be a nice compliment to drown a little of the car noise from the road. What Beethoven are you learning?
