I took the dog for a walk in a stand of larch near my home late this afternoon. There isnt a lot of colour in my pics since the sun wasnt out. Some of the larch have lost their needles but most still have them holding on. I think this snow will take care of that! This little guy will likely stand upright again. This bent one has been like that for a few years. You couldnt pay me enough to cut that one.
There's the snow that you were expecting! When we got that system the snow was so heavy and wet it took hours to shovel. Hopefully you have a snowblower or plow.
Yeah. Same here. I shovelled the wet stuff the night before and then it cooled to -7c during the storm so we had some lighter stuff to shovel in the morning. I have a snowblower which I used to clear snow for the new people across the street (moved from Alberta) and then the single lady next door to them whose snow blower quite working. Mostly they all needed help with the wet burm across the driveways. I was a busy guy for about 3 hours.
that is the kind of snow we usually get. hardly any of the light and fluffy kind. Snowblowers are useless around here.
Yeah I call this kind of snow that we got Vancouver snow as its what I remember as a kid growing up on the coast. I lived in Whistler for 7 years and remember getting the heavy wet stuff most of the time. When I moved to the Rockies I was surprised at how much drier it was. I even broomed off a good amount of snow off my steps! We do get a mix out here though depending on which way the systems flow.
