Just curious if anyone here owns or has used one of these little top handle chain saws? There's a used one for sale locally, and I'm curious on a ballpark value if it's in decent shape aka bar not burnt, good compression, still has a usable chain, starts.

Thought it might be perfect for limbing trees after felling or just for trail clean up etc. I know the Canadian peso isn't worth much, but for comparison, new ones here float in the $450-520 ballpark. How low an offer can a guy make without being a total D-bag?

    I've had a non-T. Just a 435.

It's been a decent saw. It needed a new piston after several years of homeowner abuse.

It's still in the rotation and does what I ask of it.

If it's the same powerhead, I'd have no regrets with it.

It was at a neighbors place, and I don't believe it was used for anything but a bit of firewood or clearing trails. The guy is deceased now, his daughter has it hanging around.

2 questions: Was he the last to put gas in it? Is the gas he put in it still in it? Might be a sweet deal if the price is right:yes:

I might go back and check it out. They've sold their house and will be gone in less than 2 weeks so I might inquire again. They had stated no lower than $150, but if the price goes down, my interest goes up if you know what I mean.:D

My first top handle and only Husky is a 335 top handle. Bought used. Great little saw when it was working properly. Not knocking Husky at all, just issues with a used saw.

I have since acquired a couple Stihl top handles (194 & 201c) which are great for limbing, cutting smalls etc. I will one hand cut often especially cutting in tangles, awkward locations etc. Dont recommend it but everyone has to learn somehow.

Still own it. On my sig line. Bought used in 2010 and rarely use it. Started on the second pull the other day too.

Ill trade it for the 241 and throw in one of those 4 cycle saws? ;)
