Nah. I can answer that right now. Just add old bay to season properly, then enjoy.

Is it me or does the fireman on the lower right looks like he's taking a leak?

No Doubt!!! We paid $100 surcharge for mileage for our last load (~9 cord) but we all pay for gas and tires etc. But frankly I was glad he was willing to deliver that wood, small town, zero competition for service and price. That said, I think I got us to 1.5 winters worth of split/dried wood and the 1/2 semi ready to buck next year which should be crack while splitting later. We'll see, I'll be watching black friday sales for a deal on a splitter instead of him doing all of it by hand with his maul. Let's see what happens depending on our budget....

He’s wearing a red helmet. That means he’s in charge. So, he’s definitely taking a leak, while his crew is working

    Makes sense.

I think if you hose it off once a week or so it'll be fine. Split it real small too. :fart:

Which, unfortunately, seems to still be the vast majority of the burners. :picard:

I guess that firefighter boss is taking care of a tiny ember. Leaving his guys with the rest of the fun.

Yeah we're gonna wanna see some pics there, Dave. Although you might wanna open this to help the 23 cords you got?:p 41LZGRFcgBL._AC_SY580_.jpg

Delivered yesterday. Came on a 26' truck that was pretty much loaded to the gills. Only thing, the logs were piles sloppy as there was a lot of twisted and branches (forks) that came into play. The length of the pile was over 36'. Averaging it out at a height of 4' gave me a layer o0f 9 cord and then the stuff that was mounded made up the other 3 for the 12.

This is what happened today. Two chainsaw tanks worth ad that was it for this worn out yooper....

    IMG_20221022_181034510.jpg

My intention is to cut what I can and stack the rounds as you see. It won't be split until next spring and then moved to the "normal" pile until I use it. This stuff is dirty so every time I fill up the chainsaw, I also have to sharpen the chain. And, it's a lot larger than the maple I had this spring.

I am sure when it comes time for splitting, I'll use that "alternative configuration" for the larger rounds. There's probably a milk crate laying around here somewhere.....

Here is a pic of the 11 cord I got this spring. This is the stuff that was $1100 bit is now $1500! Well, the oak will burn longer and it was still $100 a cord. So, I think it'll be better.

Impressive pile there Dave. Couple tank fulls and stacking like that would be enough for me too. Gonna keep ya busy for a while.

Won't be split until you use it? Or maybe I'm reading that wrong.

Today you can wear your shorts and sandals while cutting.
