I'm sure the 100K RAM was financed as well so it's really 130K. Ain't no vehicle worth that jack today or any day for that matter. If people generally wised up and said no, prices would drop appreciably. Until then, prices will remain at whatever the market will bear.

Do people (suckers) really pay 1300 bucks for a phone?? Never paid more than 200 bucks for one other than my SAT phone but then it's not for every day use.

They do, but the price tag doesn't matter (to them) because 2 months before the next model comes out, they will put the phone up on FB Marketplace/eBay/etc. for >75% of what they paid for it, and buy the latest on at release. Nothing wrong with that, just more hassle than I'm willing to go through. Others are in an upgrade "program" where they are essentially leasing the device. Pay a monthly fee, get the latest model as soon as it's released. Some people get MUCH more use out of their "phones" (which are really pocket computers) than others, hence don't mind flushing all that cash.

I buy top-of-the-line, and hang onto it as long as I can. Last phone I ran for 6+ years, on the original battery and display too. My kid still uses it for games on occasion. I'll replace my current phone when I see a major shift in the tech, like when 4G LTE, and 5G were introduced. I upgraded my wife's phone when the cameras received a decent upgrade. I use mine for more than just phone calls and text messaging, but for someone who just uses it as a phone, I can see getting many, many years out of a mid-range iPhone or similar. If you can get your service provider to subsidize the cost of the phone, even better. My wife's business phone is "free", as long as I maintain the line for 24 months. Which, obviously, she needs anyways to run the business.

At our local old school barber shop, nobody ever tipped...they'd tell the barber to charge what he needs to charge...but something has changed now in the last few years, I see more n more people tipping...probably from moms bringing Jr in for a haircut and being used to tipping their hair stylist...then when people see others tipping they are basically self guilted into following suit (the barber has fancier toys than me, so I think he is do ok!) plus it was always walk in before, now since cv19 its by appointment only...real PITA IMO. :BrianK:

Should do like my old boss...the Flowbee!
The thing is, he kept it pretty "high n tight" and you would never have guessed that's how he cut his hair!
I hear ya on paying $20...was under $10 not very long ago! I guess that's why I only go 3-4 times per year...and I guess I just have a problem with my barber making more per hour (he cut on average 4 heads/hr prior to going to appointments only...which was his choice) than me when IMO he has a pretty limited skill set and/or investment in making his living...I mean good for him n all, but to me a basic men's haircut has a limited value. $20 every few weeks (like some do) is just too much...on to plan B for me!!

Last time I was to a barber shop had to be 20 years ago. Wife cuts my hair with the Oster horse clippers. Do a good job too.

I worked with a girl in her mid-late 20s a few years back. Good girl and a good attitude but BLONDE! Always messing with her. She was talking about having to go get her hair cut and I said she could save some money and use my flobee. She had to google it.

Without a doubt, an automatic is better for towing heavy

I tip my barber. Not sure why. He lives in a 800k home, has a BMW, Ram truck. :) He does work his azz off though and there's usually a wait. He immigrated from Italy when he was very young. Parents busted their rear ends. I joke with him that "the family" is fronting his business.
