Looking for ideas for a rack/shelf to store 1-2 days worth of firewood inside. Right now we’re just using an 18 gallon tub which works great but my wife would prefer something a little more decorative, even if it’s something I build myself out of wood.
What do y’all use? Would love to see some pictures that I can show her,

I used some leftover parts I had from a 2x4basics bench kit to make a firewood rack.

    Just out of curiosity-
Is your heater in a finished space such as a living room or den… or in the basement?

Reason I ask lends itself to finished appearance of the wood storing unit. Coworker MarkG grabbed a decent sized crate from work, stood it up, added a shelf for supplies, and the rest of the area for stacking up farwood. Here’s a pic sans fuel stix.

This sometbing I made from some ash I milled. While sitting it warped but that just made for a more interesting box.
This will hold about two days worth.

I like having a box because it does help with keeping things cleaner. Thanks Brad

Our box has to have a lid ; two dogs that aren't sure if they are Beavers or Woodchucks.
Finally on the homestretch finishing up a box for our wood. It is stained and will be getting clear coated over the next few days.
Got tired of the plastic bin with a lid in the corner.

I can't wait to finally wrap this project up!

An old hope chest or even just an open box can be enough.

Metal circular rack was scrounged for free. Wood rack is 2 -48”x48” squares made from pallet wood.. I wrapped paracord across the top boards to make an adjustable hinge. Cost me nothing and folds flat to store in the off-season. You could make something similar with nicer lumber or even limb wood with bark removed.

    My cat is like that...

I keep very little in the house mainly just don't have the room.... During the cold season I'll keep usually a fire or two worth next to the stove. For convince of the other half or moisture falling... Otherwise its outside...

Somebody on here made one a few years back. I cannot find it. The bottom was a wood slab on wheels. The top was iron pipe (1 inch or so) with fittings for all of the turns. It was slick, and nicely done.

Found a picture on my computer. You could do these any shape or size to fit your space:
