Probably? I don't care new and shiney things don't get me that excited. It's not that I have the money for those things, it's just I don't covet those things or put as much value in them as others do.
Just an ad I saw. Realistically I was thinking something more along a new ms362. But if a deal on a used shiny saw comes up I my grab it. Mute point now as its sold
Probably has a lifted 1 ton diesel pickup with loud exhaust and the heaviest thing hauled is a bag of groceries it is called small P@#$# disease
Yep. We see a lot of trucks like that. Lots of big trucks with the mile high shifter too, where you can see it from the ground.... Nothing like shifting a 10 speed overhead.
Has to be a crew/mega-cab with a short bed too...... Lot's of newish 1T Dually Diesels running around here, with lift kits that make them useless for anything other than a bumper-pull trailer. Big tires, expensive wheels, sewer pipe exhausts, and Ben Hur lug nuts are a must. Does little more than haul the owner around the daily circuit of fuel station, "job site", mechanic, and home.
Did someone mention to check that it oils OK? A burned bar could indicate lack of oil. I also look at the bottom of the saw and handle to see if it is all beat up. I always clean all the pitch and stuck sawdust off the housing and bar of a saw I am selling and blow them out so they look pretty. A hammered bottom of the saw is something you can't hide though and indicates hard use. If it is pristine you may have a garage shelf queen.
Unless the saw comes from a fire department! I bought 3 036's that rode in compartments and had rubbed off the bottoms pretty good even though they were rarely used.
My "new" used Stihl 362 had been not behaving well. It didn't want to start when it was hot and would suddenly shut down without any switches being thrown. I thought it might have something to do with the fuel filter to I pulled it out to check it. The fuel line broke at the filter. I was able to get it to my dealer and he was able to get the fuel line and filter replaced while I waited. He told me the fuel line came out in 3 pieces. I believe the former owner ran 'e gas' in it. Is there anything else that might go bad in the future after having 'e gas' run for an unknown amount of time? Repair today cost$34. I ran the saw this afternoon and it ran fine.
If that was the one Will was selling... We have mutual friends. He sounds like a decent guy. You are more than welcome to send me links any time you see something like that and I will give you my .02, I've had a pretty good eye over the years with this stuff... and used to sell used saws quite a bit. There is a guy in Ashland that was a mentor to me with this stuff, and has a small shop, he would be another great source for you, he is also the one that the 500i seller and I mutually know). If you are on the hunt for anything specific, PM me and I will keep an eye out for you. Typically, if its a good deal on Marketplace... its going to last a day or two.
