What a difference! Left it on #2 to warm the basement last night. The Mrs. noticed how warm the bathroom floor is. Basement is nice and warm too. I didn't think it would warm that much over night with all the rock/concrete sucking up all the heat. Seemed to get rid of some of the dank feeling the basement has. I bet the mice are enjoying it too! :p

Upstairs was 69ºF when I got up at 8:00, I expected something more like 66ºF. :D

Finally started feeling better today, getting some energy back. They need to develop a flu test too so I can figure out what's knocking me for a loop every winter from now on.

It looks a bit disconnected. What gives?

Instead of the back of the stove up against the flue, I spun it 90º so the radiant is aimed towards the center of the basement. Plus its going to be easier to clean the back as its out in the open now. I won't need to squeeze my fat arz between the stove and the wall to get at the goodies inside. Much less EVL than what it used to have.

Plus connecting to the existing duct will be easier and a shorter run.

Hey guys! Thought I would stop by and say hello. It's getting to be that time of year. Ran the Accentra a few mornings to take the chill off and it's all good. I have been crazy busy all spring and summer and so far this fall. I thought retirement was for kicking back and enjoying life? I've been doing lots of carpentry and plumbing jobs but now I have a ton of boats and campers to winterize. Jay, the stove install looks great. Sam, feel better soon. My daughter, who is a nurse, has had covid 3 or 4 times. Last time was the worst. My wife and I had it last winter and the only way we knew to get tested was we lost our taste and smell. Other than that we felt fine. Thank God :) Looking forward to seeing what y'all have been doing!

 . I used to work 12 hour days. One week I would workMonday, Tuesday, off Wednesday and Thursday and work Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The next week I would work Wednesday and Thursday. Then I retired. I took a couple years off but now with rising prices I need more money. I work whenever I want if I need the money. (Or the work is there). Lately I have been working 7 days a week. Granted it's only 3 or 4 hours a day but I gotta do what I gotta do.

Same here. Big tree in front suddenly dumped 1/2 it's leaves in a day and a half. Had guy coming to aerate the lawn, so had to quick chop up the leaves & cut the grass lower. Got it done in time, and aeration is done, but gonna wait on the re-seeding & gypsum until I see some rain coming.....not for at least a week according to weathermen.

Nice 31⁰ frosty morning here in south jersey. I was finally able to take care of a ground bees nest at work thanks to the temps.

Cold here as well. It's 37 presently and the biomass stove has been running for 2 days now but just idling along. Supposed to warm back up next week. I'm good with that as I have farm related stuff to take care of.

Waiting for the large maple behind the shop to drop it's leaves so I can drop it. Getting to be a constant PITA. Time to go.

Pellet eater got it's first work out! She did OK, But must improve heat transfer to the main floor(ie ducting).

Left the stat at 68º and the stove on high/low. But I think it never met the stat temp by the amount of fuel she sucked up! This shack is way more drafty than the lake house. Besides insulation updates. It probably could benefit with a better house wrap!!
