    Holee chit man!!!! :bug:

After getting my car washed yesterday, I stopped by the dodge and chevy dealer, out of curiosity. I know prices are up but, WOW

Dodge truck quad cab, diesel was 76k, "Black Widow" addition another 23k. 99Gs for a dodge!! And they had 6 of them on the lot.

    Jeep wagoneer, 88K.

Rubicons had the cost and just blatantly said, $8,500.00 additional for market adjustment.

    Chevy high country edition, 87k
Yes they had others, 66k-79k, but the cost of some of these just made me about :faint:

Who are the buyers of these high end trucks/ suvs?
Not knocking anyone who buys them, just trying to wrap my head around paying almost 100k for a truck or suv.

I think most people finance over 7 years, keeps the payments "affordable "
I know a guy who looks after all the financing stuff at local dealership, he says most don't ask what the price is, just how much is the payment

Used vehicle prices are sky high as well . Family relative recently traded in a 3 year old 2019 jeep and got $7000 less than what they paid for it new with 49,000 miles on it .

I’ve noticed GM is starting to move out some of the HD trucks built in Flint . They have been parked like cordwood at every vacant lot in the area for months . Chip shortage issues .

Just got a 22 Trail Boss Custom with a 3.0L , I thought was a decent price. It is the midnight edition, black on black, and not many fancy stuff. Traded in a 18 Colorado CCLB with a 2.8L 80k miles, only lost 10k on it..

This. When an 80K truck becomes "just" 900 bucks a month payment after trade-ins, very few think about the overall price because that truck will likely be traded before the loan term is over.

They'd all go bankrupt if they had to rely on me to buy new ones...

    I wonder the exact.....same.....thing!

I inspect houses that sell for 900k, 1 mil, 1.2 mil. How can anyone afford that kind of mortgage? Then you talk to the builder and realize they both work from home

They had them as well. I consider them reasonably priced. Good looking truck too.

Lol. Me too. I run em until they don't then rebuild em. My 2004 Z71 tahoe is still nice to drive. Despite the rusty rear fender, cd player that refuses to give up my cds, and the dents. Its a beast in the snow.

Yeah. And the couple is under 28 years old!

Regarding how people like to buy the top end even though some shouldn't, one of my former bosses always said

If people had their furnaces installed in their front yard where they would be on display, they'd buy the top end and spare no expenses! But instead, they'll have their boats, snowmobiles, UTVs, cars and trucks on display and as cheap as possible of a furnace to keep them and their family warm while it is -40.

Something like that, you get the point! :handshake:

I worked for multiple people like that. They always thought tradesmen should work for peanuts while their computer job was worth six figures (this was back in late 90's- early 2000's).

I remember one guy was an IT guy for a local school. Super cocky. Made his wife go up and chip ice off the roof of an addition we just built (winter 0f 2010), then demanded we buy and replace the shingles she damaged with a spade shovel.....for free.

blue collar workers don't get enough appreciation or enough money in this country. Manual labor is frowned upon especially craftsmanship.
They will blow 100k on a vehicle but don't want to pay for quality construction.
OF course a lot of houses I saw being built in the last 20 years, some of them don't deserve to even be allowed on a job site.. my opinion obviously.

I completely agree. Most roofing, siding, and framing is now done by foreigners. Not many kids wanting to get into the trades. I can't blame them. Make way more to sit in front of a computer and not beat up your body. I wonder if the work at homers will be ok with foreigners taking their jobs for less pay, like the blue collar workers were forced to do?

Oh yeah, I make the most money of all the employees in my Office, and I drive the oldest and lower grade cars and trucks. I have a Ram 1500 with a few options, and I can depreciate it with the farms. All the guys have 3/4 tons loaded with options. Of course, wife says "if you got a new truck, then I deserve a new car".

In addition, Chrysler used to offer Public Safety pricing, which meany of you got a police fleet truck, SUV or Charger, it came with a deep discount. Of course, I am the only one who bought one.

SBA not trying to be a jerk, but why would a new addition that was just built, have ice buildup on it to begin with.?

One of my contractors is a master roofer, when he inspects a roof he starts at the soffit outside or the ceiling below the roof, as insulation venting etc is as important As roofing material for longevity

1000 a month is not a vehicle payment more of a mortgage payment IMO

Just built...as in not finished (or insulated yet).

No romance in the finance, well except for the finance company that is. They make a killing while you struggle with the payment No way would I ever buy a new vehicle that cost more than the farm did. Don't have a clue who buys them but then there are idiots born everyday.

They can only charge these prices because people pay 'em...and there's no starving big shots working at Ford, GM, Dodge/Ram, so its not like they have tightened their belts at all...supply chain issues or not.
Which brings up another issue...there's just NO WAY that I'm paying over MSRP for a vehicle like many are (were?) doing in recent times!

Just like all the fools who were fighting over houses, offering tens of thousands over asking. :loco:

Maybe money really does grow on trees in some places.

I foresee another 2008-like recession in our future.
