But… I’ll race you in any size wood with my SCarr ported 94cc Husky, and I can handle it solo.
I mentioned they were salty in another thread and got gang tackled, lol.
    Good strategy IMO.

Well read all the posts and come to the conclusion that everyone has a strong opinion on brands I am not brand loyal I have run many saws all makes and sizes climbed and did land clearing for years every year the OPE comes out with a new and better version of saws the Husky 372 has been around for years and has been a proven design the 572 version with auto tune has more if you like auto tune saws I am currently running a 592 with a 28 lightweight bar it takes a few tanks of fuel to get used to the auto tune but this combo is light and fast a lot of suggestions on here are great but NOTHING beats running the model you might be interested in the suggestion of going to a get together is a great Idea or go to a logging show and check out the booths a lot of dealers have demo units to run . The 70cc class of saws are workhorse saws for most firewood cutting they are a good mix of power to weight 20-24 inch bars on them are great and they can push a 32 fine the 80-90 cc saws get heavy but the upside to them is you get done faster !! my go to big saw for years was a 2095 Jonsered heavy saws, the new 592 is way lighter .
If there is anything I can help you with in husqvarna just ask I am a dealer for them and would be glad to help . as for stihl suggestions there are many here that own and run them but The 460 and 661 saws have been proven workhorses in all honesty I do not see many big saws come through the shop because once you get in that class of saw it seems they are all very reliable given reasonable care and they do get run hard Hope this helps JB

Great input JB ; hope the new mill is on good behavior.

All kidding aside I am not brand loyal and whatever works for the individual is their choice.
I run mostly Stihl ; why? Who knows; maybe I drank the Kool-Aid or left the top off the tube of glue for too long. I'm still trying to figure that out.

I do not really have any larger Huskys so my input stops at their 359. I would have no problem trying a large Husky if I had the opportunity?
Maybe I would even drive a Ford? But not opening that can of worms.:D

If it works for you just go for it.
Life is too short to worry if you are a pumpkin or creamsicle.

SCA need to try a 661?
BRAD and I were just talking about large saws and chains.
I have just what you need. Not selling but maybe a test drive is in order?

Ill bring both the 500i and 460 (which is 76cc btw) and let you try both. I myself forget what fun saw it is to run...500i that is. I think the stock 460 will put a smile on your face. Sure did on mine first time i ran it with a 28" bar.

Found myself with a similar dilemma at my cut today. Wasnt planning on cutting and only had the 50cc 261 with me with 16" bar. DBH was 22". Got it done but i felt your pain.

    This thing is painfully slow.
However if I ever find the offered 144" bar and find a 10' log I'll give it a go.

My grandfather’s Pioneer 610, @ 103cc, is the same. The thing weighs a ton.

"Pro" saws will have better power:weight than "homeowner" grade. Honestly most homeowner saws will perform just fine and last more than a lifetime for homeowner use.

What JB Sawman is exactly what you need to hear. :salute:
If I were you (which I am not) I'd try to find a good used 372. If not, a Stihl 460 or 461. 90 cc is more of a special purpose saw for most people.

yeah, struggled with parting with this one. Likely never have another in the hoard unless I want to spend some $$. Trying to raise some cash to buy a specific bench tool.

This brings up a pretty good point, what is the difference use-wise between homeowner and pro?
I know I easily exceed what most homeowners do (13 cord last year, 14 and counting rapidly this year)....and Im regularly running either saw for 4 and 5 hours at a clip.
Both my homeowner saws do well enough in the power:weight category....

    This ^^^^^.... try it out.
I love our 461. Just changed the muffler and air filter, so far. 7 pin sprocket with 32" bar, 7 or 8 pin on 28" bar, 8 pin on 25" bar. amateur cutter ran it at the GTG with 25" bar...
