I recently bought a load of Oak logs destined for a pallet mill. Not anymore. They are gonna be firewood now. 20221004_163824.jpg 20221004_163925.jpg 20221008_084742.jpg Should be around 10 cord. Nice stuff, so I ordered two more loads.

Sweet! Makes cutting and splitting a lot quicker with having straight wood like that…

You got that right! We've processed about 30 cord of yard trees that I've hauled off jobs, that's getting old. Lotta reject stuff in those.

Nice! That’s a dream for me. Takes hard azz work to get em down, bucked up, loaded, brought home and unloaded. You’ve got 3/4ths of the work done at that point. :dex:

You are correct, bummer is it's the felling that I really enjoy. Very time consuming to do all that as you stated. I no longer cut trees for the "free" firewood. Better to buy the log loads and speed the processing. Saves a lot of time and fuel. Best gig is getting paid on both ends.

Ha, yep gettin old ya know. Pallet mills are slowing down due to less "stuff" being shipped. Log prices are below what I can make them for, so why not.

What's something like that cost? Here in Wyoming, it's about $1400 for a 8-10 cord load of pine logs.

Stay at it amateur cutter. And yes, getting log loads does speed up the process a lot. Interesting trailer he hauls logs on.

    $1250.00 for that load delivered.
Trailer is converted with the bunks. Loader rides on the back.

The company I work for uses only oak skids. I could honestly heat the house all winter with what they put in the scrap pile. If you where closer I'd bring you a whole truck load.

Have you tried scrounging and burning them? I have sources for pallets inc all hardwood. I have taken some in the past and burned them. Some were nice full sized 2x4 and 1x6.
