So I snapped a few pictures just now of what I have in process, I other words needs one of all of cutting, splitting, or stacking. Does not include the 10 cords of split stacked. Busy summer ahead.

I'd like to stress the importance of networking--or simply striking up a conversation--I saw two dead still standing trees in a nursing home front lawn and called them--they'd just been talking about the trees and how to get rid of them--meanwhile while I was at the watering hole the barkeep was a nurse (at her day job) at the very same nursing home and said she'd put in a word for me--that blew me away but just now got a call from the nursing home maintenance guy who said because of liability I couldn't cut them but he would, load them on his truck and deliver it all to me!! I'm still laughing!! I never pay for wood and love the hard work involved but I do not turn down things like this--maybe he just wants to meet me?
I can think of several things to say to the neighbor, but my current best idea is to look her right in the eye and tell her very gravely that you suffer from OCD and simply can't stop. You and your psychiatrist are working on it, but for now you're just happy that you have cut down on masturbation, and doc says not to tackle too many things at once or you risk a psychotic break. (disclaimer - I am not a psychiatrist, and your results may vary)
My OCD kicked in this week as a guy I know wants his small plot clear cut. Cool thing is, he drops the trees, gets them cut to 8 ft lengths, and helps load them on the truck and trailer. Its mostly ash, but in under 30 minutes the other night my truck was mounded with 7-8 ft logs ranging from 4 to 14 inches in diameter. Good shoulder wood, or saleable stuff. Plus I got to test out the new one ton truck. Looks to be about 10-15 cord all said and done...pure estimate.
If theres no more room on your lot to stack wood. Burn more fires. Im lucky, I live on an acre lot and so far have plenty of room. I got near 20 chords stacked and under open sheds. My neighbors have no problem with my winter wood burning. (so far) Heck they are inside during the cold months. I try to be considerate and load my HOSS very early when most folks are still in bed and late at night. That way when there is a little smoke, they dont have to deal with it. As far as storage, I try to keep it out of sight in the back, but occasionally its temporarily piled up in the side yard until I can wheelbarrow it to the back sheds. I was a little concerned when I got a new next door neighbor last year but, when he and his wife started talking about building a chicken house I said, you have moved into the right place, welcome to the neighborhood.
That's ironic here in the NYC northern 'burbs. My neighbors help feed my addiction. One especially loves some hickory/cherry/apple in my stove.
Open up the old thread cause you finally ran out of firewood? Those were some impressive stacks! How long you plan on it taking to process your new pile of logs?
Well jo191145 she's very nice. I've become her outdoor maintenance gal when they're away. And Haftacut I truly don't know how long it will take... depends on my back and if my 14 year old Stihl will keep up. It will stack basically right there though so no long walk to store. Nice fall project for 2023 winter. Hoard on!
