Went and cut up some ash from a spot I know. And a bit more in the trailer. I tried to keep it all on one pallet. Almost got it!
I wish we had more ash around here. Ironically, I have 2 in my yard, but seldom get any ash for firewood over the past 7-8 years.
Nice!. Im nursing the remainder ash I have. I don't come across it often. I would take all I could find.
Since we don't have much Oak to speak of in my part of the world, green ash is just about the best quality wood you can get
Yep, there is more there also. I just take out wood little by little. I don't want anyone thinking that I'm clear cutting the place. These are some pictures of my current stacks. And I will post another video of my wood stacks in my basement for this winter. I have a small property (50x140 sq.ft.) so im not able to have the 15+ cords that some of you guys have. I estimate I have about 6 to 7 cords in various stages of seasoning. I burn probably 2 -3 cords per winter. And the mice are starting to take a foothold in the stacks. I hope they aren't bothering the neighbors ( I'm sure they are).
Hey that's awesome!!! You've got wood behind every wall and post! There is a point where it will overrun your land it it's let to. We got to a similar spot, and started stacking at a friend's house. In that case, I kept him supplied with wood (3 cord/yr) and weed wacked there as a thank you. We stashed a little over 7 cord there. Someone else here suggested finding a business that would be willing to part with some back parking area or field....for a little cash or barter. Import cats sneks to help w mice.
Looking good! Love burning Ash! It’s getting hard to find in the Denver metro. It used to be easy to get my hands on.
Ash is probably my 2nd best wood available, but I don’t get very much of it. Still a lot of live ones around here. Got my eye on a couple dead ones here in town
Jealous of that. Most of our ash (white) has been dead so long if you do find any its pretty punky. At our cottage in the UP we do have a few small green ash that finally succumbed to EAB just this summer. Will be a spring time project....
Great score! I'm in the same club, wish I still has ash to burn but it's almost all punky. Hope it makes a comeback some day.
Such nice firewood, ash has such nice large stems. Will burn my first ash this season, found one last year that died. I rarely see a live one.
