A load of cherry

Went apple picking with the family today. I brought my chainsaw and PPE just in case. There was a nice cherry blow down right by the orchard

I got half the tree. The bottom half is covered in overgrowth. I will get the rest this winter.

 

Sweet! Lots of black locust there too, huh? I see a lot of suckers coming up around those trunks.

 

You might be a firewood hoarder if you go to the orchard and you aren't after picking fruit.

Yeah there’s a tonne. I just cut what falls. Not a big fan of dropping trees unless it’s easy.
I have about two face cords of locust for winter of 2023.

 

Heating and cooking outdoors. I have more than I can use so will probably sell a few face cords. Have 8 IBC totes…soon 14. I personally consume a full cord over winter as it’s our secondary place. My plan is to sell enough to pay for my firewood toys…I mean tools.
