Ah! I remember those days fondly and do not miss them in regards to the installation of the OWB. (three different times). I have been moving firewood into the basement going on my second week now. Bugs, weather, mess, handling it all three extra times than you need to. I miss having my heat inside/mess outside OWB! Nice pics
That thermopex will be a lot easier to feed up into the stove if you cut and peel off the green casing, then take a hand saw and cut the spray foam vertically down between the PEX to separate them. You're going to do that anyway once it is in the stove...easiest to do it before.
Definitely...that stuff is no joke to strip the outer casing and insulation from...bad enough to do when you have good access, would really suck doing it in a tight spot!
I left the foam on....would have been easier with it off but I wanted to keep the insulation if I could.
Already planned to the stove is not arriving untill december so I left it on I will have the last pictures from outside maybe today I did cut the insulation back about 4 inches inside the house it was tough stuff Thanks for the advice JB
They claim you can leave it un buried if need be, so 2-2.5' will be fine. Looks like you are making good progress. I hope to start working on the pad for my Hardy next week or 2.
Finished up the dirtwork yesterday a few yards of screened topsoil worked nice I hope to start on indoor plumbing this weekend once I get the concrete poured I will extend blacktop up to the concrete on the front side and maybe river stone or I have some flagstone around on the sides and back I have not decided yet
Yes made great progress Ricky Blazing came over last weekend and worked with me he has been a great help always better with a extra set of hands JB
I have a central boiler 4436 that we bought in 2005 it's been a pretty good unit last winter it sprang a leak in the firebox when my son was shoving a large piece of wood into it. We cleaned it out and had a local welder come and fix the leak. My wife and I talked it over and ordered a 5036 to put in the barn until the old one has an unfixable event. The new one won't be in until February.
I just got a call from the dealer and their Central Boiler dealership was canceled so I have to find a new dealer.
Back again !! still waiting for the boiler but the delay is actually ok I have been really busy so christmas day project was plumbing and wiring in the house almost finished tested the circulator on the existing boiler that is hooked to the heat exchanger all good hope to finish all plumbing tomorrow and I will finally be ready for the furnace JB
