Was able to rent a 60 series excavator....dug out the shallow end of pond..cleaned up edges after an infiltration of muskrat. Dug a driveway..popped stumps. What a nice size machine for getting stuff done faster !
They dig holes in the banks and throughout the dams. I didn't know I had them till I was mowing around the pond and the tractor collapsed into a hole. Could have lost the tractor in the pond if I wasn't being careful ! Then...they turned my shallow end into a swampy muddy mess. . They made big dome hut houses in it too. My pond is maybe 1/8 of an acre. It's small. There were 15 rats in it. Crazy !
Provide targets. And ravage the bank of the pond with there excavation. Bad juju. Hate the persistant little ba_tards. Continual battle. Argh.

Fire at will policy at the tree farm lake for any fur bearing swimming critters. Not a baddeal to rent a digger and get chores done.
