Got some used pallet racks at the scrap yard. My pole barn is a wreck and has no organization due to no shelfing. I can't do anything in there and it has been driving me up the wall :headbang:. Not the best looking but nothing rusted or rotten. I have a ton to do before the snow flies but this is pretty high up now.

I'm not sure off I need to secure them somehow to the ground as I don't plan to store extend amounts of weight. The floor is gravel so that does not help. Excited one way or another.

I got some of those and used them for milled planks. Really helped utilize space.

It stays oily so any dust and dirt would accumulate quickly. My main concern is frame. My BIL said a friend uses the Fluid Film sprayer so in the near future, I may start getting more liberal with application. It's $42/gallon, gun kit is $145.

Wish I would have started doing it 10 years ago.

You know, I've noticed a lot of new houses being built lately are more Sensibly sized, not imposing mansions. And often without basements. As irritating as the building material price hikes have been, I think they're coercing people into realizing you don't need 4,000 square feet for 2 or 3 people. And quite frankly, I'm glad to see that happening.

    Random party trick:
Take a tape measure and pull it out to 122, now fold it in half with the dumb end touching 122.
If you find the year someone was born on the tape, flip it over and their age will be on the opposite side(or if they haven't had their birthday yet that year then it will show the age they will be after Bday)...or vice versa, find their age and the year will be opposite.
Next year you would pull the tape out the 123, and the following year 124...
Now, what I wanna know is who and how did this get figured out?!

I like your attitude. Too many times people want to immediately kill any wildlife that is just trying to make a living and wants to be left alone. And usually it only involves those that people term as "bad" - as in if a deer had kicked your dog and done some damage, they would have said that the dog should have left it alone and pretty much got what it desrved. But for bear, wolves, coyotes, wild cats, they immediately go into "that's a bad animal, hunt it down".

I'm not talking about those that become a danger to people (which is usually due to people's idiocy anyway, such as feeding bears), rabid animals, or those that get into the habit of killing livestock. But it doesn't sound like your bear falls into any of those categories.

When wild animals have no place left to forage for food, they usually lose their fear of people and go to garbage cans and such. You are right about people feeding wild animals. We had that here with a woman feeding a bear and its cubs in the woods. They are cute until someone gets hurt. They are not like domesticated animals. Usually it happens when city folk move to the country and think wild animals are cute and cuddly.

Animals are opportunists. They will seek out the easiest source of food instead of natural sources. Why should they scrounge for hours and hours for a few mouth fulls when there is a garden that is the same as an endless buffet for the (browsers)? Or just which one of them can resist a garbage can full of smells.....a whole neighborhood full of garbage cans? And food hanging from trees in the form of bird feeders....score!

We do the same as firewood scroungers. Always looking for the maximum gain for the least effort.

That is a wonderful cake. I don't think it is the same as last year and even if it is, it needs to be seen again. I even know the quilt pattern name. Thank you for the birthday wishes.
